Help!!! My light wont come back on!!!

i have a 400w hps ballast with a 400w mh convertion bulb. i unpluged it to take a picture and now when i plug it in it just makes a buzzing. htg. whats going on?

turn it off. let it cool down for 15 minutes and start it again...it should work fine

yep, just takes a few minutes for the ballast to get ready to fire again..

there's nothing wrong with using a mh bulb off a hps ballast, other than shorter bulb life. vice versa won't light, as the hps bulb needs the ignitor to light. the ingnitor is the only difference between the two.

He's using a MH conversion bulb designed to work in a HPS ballast.
But they do need to cool down for 15 minutes before they work again.

lol no im not that stupid... that stupid... its a mh convertion bulb.

yea i feal dumb now, super noobish for me to freak out like that but ive never really worked with hids befor now. it just had to chill off.

can mh lights work in hps ballasts? i didnt know that i thought you had to get the special convertion bulb.
