LOL

I got no oppinion about the two days of dark.... to me it stresses the plants out....
as to the light cycle when you chop them... I don't think it makes all that much of a difference... when you cut it, it's still alive until it drys out...

like roses or other flowers we chop and have for lookin nice..... now when your drying it you want to have it in a dark dry place.....

Have you checked the trichs under a microscope? The super skunk should be ready when 1/2 to 3/4ths the trichs are brown... Thats easy to check for. With mostly sativa strains I always like to use a microscope to be sure, because sometimes it takes 2 weeks or longer for their trichs to mature. But like Maryjane123 said.. better to just wait an extra week or two to be sure. I know its hard you basically have to tie your hands down from chopping them.

My skunk is ready but the mystery indica that I have only has a few brownish looking trichome,I use that $12.00 microscope from radio shack. The skunk that I have is California sativa x Super skunk, this is the end of the ninth week and it has alot of amber, milky and afew clear trichs.

This is a post that I made a while back. Hope it answers your question: "I read a lot of stuff on harvesting before I cut my first girl down, and here's what I learned. Whether it's nonsense or not, it worked out good for me. Plants do all their work at night after storing up the suns energy all day. All the chemicals and sugars and stuff come out of the roots and travel up into the plant at night. When the sun comes up in the morning, everything goes back into the roots. So I always cut the whole thing down right at the base, and right before the lights come on, trapping all the good stuff in the plant. This makes sense to me because even after you cut it down, the plant doesn't know it's been cut and is still continues to process the sugars and whatever else it does. As for the two days dark, I don't do that. Not saying it works one way or the other, just saying I don't do it. If your trichs are where you want them, cut it down. Good Luck!"

I guess you could say it "produces" more at night, because during the dark cycle I'm pretty sure bud production and THC production is at its peak. I sneak into the room with the lights off and just snip it right at the base AFTER the last dark cycle is almost complete.
