First Grow w/ Cannabiogen Sandstorm and G13 Power Skunk + 1 bag seed

Hey everybody,

I decided to create a grow journal for those that want to hang out and see what happens with my plants for my first indoor grow.

I decided to go soil since it's my first time. I'm going to be using Fox Farms Ocean Forest mix with 25% perlite.

If you didn't see the title, I'm growing 10 Cannabiogen's Sandstorms and 5 G13 Power Skunks. I tossed a single bagseed in the mix as well. I currently have them in jiffy pots and 14 out of 16 have popped out of the soil. The only 2 that haven't are the Power Skunks. I moved a tiny bit of soil and saw them making progress though. I'm pretty sure it will end up being a 100% germination.

I have the seeds foot below 2 Fluorescent growing tubes. The temperature stays around 75 degrees and near 40% humidity. The seedlings are also placed on top of a cheap heating pad I bought at Walgreens to keep the soil warm.

I am finishing up a grow box that I built 4x4x8. All walls are coated with mylar. There's a 275cfm Vortex fan for exhuast. Since I'm on a budget, I'm going passive intake for now so I'll have a whole at the bottom with a filter placed over it.

I will be using a 400w MH for veg and a 1000w HPS for flowering.

Nutes are some organic nute. Too be honest, I'm too lazy to go look at the name but the guy at the hydro store said its good cause I don't have to add anything to it.

Sandstorm is the purple buds and the Power Skunk is obviously the other.

Awesome, thanks for tunin in. And no, I have not grown either of these strains. I just ordered these seeds from Attitude. The power skunk was for free. I have only done 1 outdoor grow and I grew Purple Maui (friends strain), Grape Ape, Strawberry Cough, and Acupulco Gold before it got jacked.

I got some of the Powerskunk freebies as well, curious to see what happens with them. I've got a Seedsman Skunk #1 starting right now, I'll save the G13 for later. Also got their Gigabud and Diesel.

haha doesn't it? Thats why I bought it.. plus no one has really tried it out according to my research. I've found two grow journals after searching long n hard and both people still aren't done. So we shall see what happens this those suckers.

I'm hearing A LOT of bad things about this free power skunk. People are saying its leggy, has no smell, and the buds look weak. Some people are saying its purely a waste of time... butttt I don't know. 3 out 5 germinated and popped the soil but I may toss them and replace them with clones.

Anyhow, it's day 4 now and I'm left with 14 sprouts. All of the sandstorms sprouted, the random bagseed did, and 3 out of 5 Power Skunks popped. Below I posted pics of them once I turned the lights on this morning. I have them under 15 hrs of light. Jorge suggested 14 to increase female to male ratio and others are saying 16 is just a good amount for seedlings. Instead of doing one or the other, I wen't in-between. If you suggest otherwise please let me know.

Also, I still have these guys on a heating pad... should I take it out from underneath? And one more question... should I be watering these suckers now or still misting the soil?

Unfortunatly quite a bit of time lol. It's on day 4 right now and its just in the seedling stage. Once it develops its roots I'm going to be vegging for 30-40 days and flowering 60-65 days. So probably almost 4 months from now. Damn, thats soooo long!!!!

Once I get enough money I'm going to be doing a perpetual harvest with SOG most likely. The vertical grows are starting to grab my interest though... so we'll see. Whatever I can do to increase the yield and lower the amount of time to harvest, I'm in.

It's day 5 now. My seedlings have stretched a little cause do do brain over here didn't know my seeds should be 1-2 inches from the light when using 2 24'' fluoros. No worries though, I'm just going to bury them a little deeper once I decide to transplant. Here's some pics of how their lookin.

Oh and does anybody know when the true leaves start growing out?

Ahh... u shithead!(jk) U had me thinkin those pics of that sandstorm were urs!LOL ... They are streeetched out, but do jsut like u said when u transplant. U can bury em as far up as the first round leaves when u do and more roots'll grow. As for ur first set of fan leaves, they should be making an appearance anytime now. U gotta fan on them right?

I'm on day six now and the first set of leaves are starting to grow out. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to home depot today to get the last bit of wood I need to finish the door for my grow room. Once I do that, their going under the 400. Here's some pics of the boys n girls.

All of them are sandstorm except for the three on the right in the second picture. Those are Power Skunk. There's one with retarded leaves and I'm hoping thats the bag seed I planted. I didn't have the time to get labelers so I never labled the bagseed. I like suprises as well so I thought it would be fun to see the difference between them during flower. Thats considering the bagseed is a female. Oh and sorry 1st pic is fuzzy... I have shaky hands.

I'm on day 8 now. I just finished my grow room yesterday and transplanted the little guys at night. They got like 45 min of the 400w MH and woke up to it this morning. Temps are at 70 degrees with 35% humidity. I haven't noticed any growth yet today... I'm hoping their still just a lil shocked or doing some major root growing. Their starting to develop their second set of real leaves. I'll be posting some pics of the room and plants in a few hours. Oh I got the light about 14-15 inches away from the plants.

For some reason it's not allowing me to post pics right now. Once I'm able to I'll upload them. Can anyone tell me why my growth has slowed now that the plants are under a 400w MH. They were under two 25w veg tubes and were growing faster that way lol. I have 14 5gl buckets under a 400... yikes and I know its too much but I'm hoping it wont be too bad once I pull the males. I watered the soil in the 5gl before transplanting, air is being exchanged ever 15 mintues. I don't know what to set it at though cause my hydrofarm timer only does 15m incriments. My fan sucks 171cfm and my room is 128cubic ft. Ther are 4 2inch passive intake covered with a weaved filter. Like I said before, temps are 70 degrees and 35% humidity... The only progress I've seen within a day is the new leaves JUUUUST starting to pop out. Am I doing everything right? Will having 14 5gl buckets under only 1 400w effect me that bad?
