wattage and yeild questions

Hello, new member here.....I'm under the impression that if you are doing things correctly your yeild for a 400 w HPS should be about 400g. Is that right? Therefore when they say yeild 350-450 s.o.g. one m2...you should be able to pull that off with a 400 watter?
