Ballast question

I think my ballast is too warm and is very loud is there any way to quite it down because in my apartment it makes to much noise!

Magnetic or digital? I recommend a nice high quality ballast, don't ever buy the cheap ones. The cheap ass magnetic ballasts give MB a bad name, like excessive heat problems and noise.

But to answer your problem ummm hmmm
I've got no idea on how you would actually make your ballast quieter, without putting it in a enclosed box (bad idea).

is it mounted to somthing? If it is try using rubber underneath it to help sound....How old is it? Mine keeps fairly cool and operates on a fan the size of a computer fan.

This is a picture of it and it sounds as if a truck were driving through my apt. lol. Im not sure why but the whole ballast is very hot
