I am about 60 days into flowering with a white widow and mostly all my lower nugs have 90% orange hairs, but my top giant colas are about 65% orange. do i wait for the top to change also or chop now?

thanks

The "doneness" is in the trichs (not the pistils color).... do you have a small hand-held microscope to check them? I've grown WW and my personal experience with a 400 watt HPS for flowering proved that even though the site I bought my seeds said 8 weeks to finish.... I needed 10 weeks.

Put up a picture.... lets see what she looks like :)

Here's a picture of the first WW plant I harvested (this is one plant). IMO I harvested 2 weeks too early. I let the next batch go 2 more weeks and it made quite a difference.

never harvested before, but ill throw you what i've read. Ok, theres a couple ways to dry the bud. 1 ive heard was to fill mason jars with water and place as many buds in there as you can. Poke holes in the lid of the mason jar and let it sit about 5 days. after 5 days, sit the buds on a rack or a surface where they would be exposed to air. And your buds will be ready to start curing after day 2 or so. The 2nd way is to use paper bags. You simply put your cliped buds in the paper sack about 1 inch deep in each sack. You keep changing the paper bags out until the bag stops feeling moist. Then you can put them in mason jars and seal them up and let them cure for however long you feel the need.

Where the hell did you hear that? It sounds like a cross between a conventional dry/cure and a water cure. Please don't do this! If you want to water cure then read the growfaq on this site and do it right .... it involves water and 5 days of rinse/soak then a food dehydrator. It also makes the weed look less "appealing" in appearance. It also diminishes end weight more then a conventional dry/cure. Definitely don't do this for your first harvest... I think you will be disappointed.

Cut your plants and hang them to dry for 3 to 5 days (dark, ventilated area) depending on your climate, temps etc.... then into glass jars (no water!). Burp jars 3 times a day for a week to let bud moisture out and fresh air in. If bud is dry then leave in closed jars for a month. If but is not completely dry then either move to a paper bag for a few days (then back to jars) or continue with burping the jars until dry.
(it's dry for cure when stems snap instead of just bend)

A magnifying glass won't do it... .get one of these (cheap...but works like a charm):

ah, i never even noticed your name. =P Florida sucks ass. Hate our laws.

I love Florida... I'm a California native and have only lived here 4 years. As I understand it, FL used to have something on the books for medical use but it was removed... DAMN SOUTHERN RELIGIOUS BIBLE BEATERS!!! I have no proof of this... just something I heard from a friend.

Time to LEGALIZE IT! Only way Uncle Sam can get their cut and we can stop living in fear of being busted
:peace:
