Hey all, can anyone tell me what is wrong with my plants. They were green and pretty and growing real slow. I added a very small dose of nutes and they grew but real yellow and now browning spots and edges are lighter color. I flushed my rez and refilled with ph'd water yesterday but they dont look any better. Plants are 13 days old.

Any help is appreciated.

do you have an Ecc/ ppm reader?? ,,

i have one and i used my house tap water and it had 280ppm,, before nutes ,, not using spring water has 70ppm or pmm not sure the terminology ,,,, maybe if you were using tap water you have a high ppm reding and with the nutes maybe was to high for the plant to take in,,,, tho im only on my 2nd grow and this is just wht i know so,, hope it helps

Don't use any nutrients that early, the plant already has plenty for a few weeks to sustain growth. I can't pinpoint the exact cause of whats going on with your plants (though I'm sure someone can) but it could be any number of things. All I know is my leaves at one point became yellow and brown around the tips like yours and it was a root issue. Make sure you're hot overwatering your plants because that will oxygen deprive your roots.

that plant is way too young for nutes. you burned it, but it looks like not too bad... no nutes! just water. that will fix it... this will stunt it for a bit tho.

hmm, nope, by 14 days old and showing the double leaf set the plant should be able to handle 1/4 nutes just fine.. it actually doesn't look like a full-fledged burn but instead a bad nute mix... the brown spots could be a burn from an excess of a particular nutrient component but the yellowing could be a nitrogen deficiency.. I would read the nutrient problems FAQ in the forum cuz it has a great list of physical symptoms versus what nutrient is the culprit and possible solutions. Also, check the soil PH and make sure it is not above 6.8
good luck!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Im using an aerogarden so the roots pretty much sit in the water and i have an aerator that should be putting plenty of oxygen in the water. They seem to be growing still but the color hasn't really changed. I'm gonna give them a couple of days b4 i go and mess with them again. They have nice fresh spring water and plenty of light so hopefully it was mild nute burn and will correct itself. I'll post more pics tomorrow(fingers crossed)
