Does this look normal to you?

I'm using the Miracle grow potting mix right now. It seems to be doing fine for the moment. I've seen a few of my friends grow with MG with no trouble so I don't know why it gets a bad rep. Thanks for the tip about the nutes. It'll probably be baby steps whenever it comes to adding anything.

I used the same soil. Plants grew fine for about 2 or 3 weeks and then started dieing (nute burn). I managed to rescue them, found out that the soil had been killing them, switched the soil and they took off, so make sure you just keep an eye out.

They are 6 days old including the Germinating and soil part.

I meant like have the seeds been hanging around for awhile before you tried to grow them? The biggest issue I had was noodling around in the soil before they broke ground since I was impatient. Probably not the same thing though. I'd say give it a few more days and sacrifice one to check it out.

What kind of soil did you end up switching to? Since I'm going to be sticking them in some 1 gallons in like 2 weeks so I'd like to switch to something that won't kill them off.

Fox Farm has enough Nutes for 3 weeks atleast then you need to add some more nutes to the soil. My opinion is Fox Farm is best for Growing!!! MG has plant steriods lol like giving steriods to a baby is like growing in MG.

I'm using the Mg Potting mix now. Which I'm definitely going to be changing when it comes time to transplant. Just don't know where to find a fox farm dealer in my area. The closest store that carries it is about a good 50 miles away.

I dig it. I'll be looking out for that. So far they seem fine. All green. One is even getting the dominant set of "first" leaves coming in. What's the deal with the wire coming out of the soil?

Temperature. tells me wha the soil and the plant are feeling ha ha.

So it's a temp probe? That's not a bad idea, since the rootzone like a certain temp as well as the rest of the plant.

only bad thing is have to have a seperate thing for humidity but the soil and everything in my box stays 73 ish. thats with the lights like 1 inch away

Sweet. I'll probably have to wait til I get my tax return before I can invest in a barometer and the rest of the nutes and whatever. It's weird. I moved both plants directly underneath a light, instead of in between 2 bulbs and they seem to be laying down. and it's only been about 3 hours.

Right on. The one thing I did notice is the soil seems to dry up pretty quick. I maybe give it a fine misting every day, enough to where the top soil is wet, but I never pour water directly into the pot just because I've been worried about over watering.

This is not a good idea. Roots go where water is and if you do this your roots will try to grow upwards towards the only water and your growth will not be at its full potential. Only water once every 4 or 5 days and when you water, go until water starts dripping out of the bottom. A good way to tell if you need to water is to simply pick up the container and feel how heavy it is. You can actually feel the weight difference between a dry container and a wet one. Wait til the container is light before watering again.
