im new to growing and have a question about if my watt of hps liight is good enouf

i am growing in a tv that i hollowed out.. its a 54 inch bigscreen tv, and about a foot and a half wide. i grew one plant befor but i didnt have a timer or any good light untill it started to bud . and it didnt even smell like weed but it was ok weed..

i have 3 more now using 3 45 cfls. there doing good now but i want to get a hps light befor they budd. i was wondering if it is good enoug to get a 250 or 275 watt one cause i cant offored any better and cant wait cause im bout to start budding them now.. would it be to hot in that little space??
i have a little 7 inch fan as well.
what should i do

i mean if you can keep it cool in there a 275 watt would fill it up nicely even a 250 watt. my only worry would be the heat in a space thats only a foot and a half wide

i live in an appartment and have to hide it and that is the only good hiding spot around and if i bought 2 150 watt it would be more expenseve too..would a small 7 inch fan do for cooling?. in the day time when i am around and awake i can take off the screen so it has more cool air to

If that doesn't work, just go to vapor tights, look at the different 150's till you see $20.

Actually I did open it twice...then I read this response and the first time I opened it the thing loaded right to the $20 version lol.

What is the kelvin rating on that, any idea? Would you recommend that as nice supplemental light for a 600hps?

i dont got enouf for 2 of them i can only affor 1 250 watt or a400 for 3more dollers. but if i got a couple fans would it work ?
and what are squrril cages or w/e there called... its like a little thing to keep the air clean and mooving or somthing?

Where are you finding a 400watt hps for only $3 more than a 250?

Do you have a link? Makes no sense to me...

You have to tell me where to get a 400 for $23 first. That would be unheard of and is probably just a bulb if you're looking at new. You can't run a bulb without a ballast. The 150's come with both bulb and ballast included and replacement bulbs are only around $5 ea.

All hps lights are 2700k I believe, cept hortilux with blue added.

Supplemental lights, you bet. They won't be cheap to run if you do a lot of them though, electric adds up fast.

Anyone that uses the 150's just take off the globe and make a reflector out of some piece of metal into a batwing shape. Mount horizontally do not try to run vertically, not enough light will get to the plants. (except supplemental lighting situations then maybe you do just want it for 360 degree light from the sides or whatever)
Much more efficient horizontally though for a normal growing situation.

How much per month would you expect to pay for a 600 watt? Let's say an average of 20 hours per day. Let's assume we are paying similar rates for electricity.

i didnt look at that site ,i am now tho. and i went to htgsupply.com.. it comes with the light , ballest, and somting else but idk wat it is. i dont know much bout thes things. lol

if i got the 150s. but it dont come with a cord or anything . or does it?because that is cheap

A 600w light will be under $40 a month at high electric rates. Here it would be like $20 I get .05 cents a kwh power. Your electric bill shows your rate and it's different day and night.

But don't get a bunch of these to equal one 600w bulb because that's not efficient, the single big light would be much more efficient electric wise and put out more lumens with more intensity.

You need to connect a cord you can just connect any 3 prong cord you cut off anything broken or old computer power cord or whatever. Connect with black to black, white to white, ground to ground.

Include a link!! You want specific feedback from very general information...try to pay attention to things like grammer and spelling please. You don't have to be perfect but it sure would make your posts easier to read...

also. im trying a seperate hydro grow. and wanted to see what you thing about it. if its good or not? i got pics too . i got one air stone at the bottom. and got nutrients. got hydrotin rocks, its hooked up to a dual air pump.

Rep+ and thanks for the info! Come check out my journal man! I just posted some pics on the 23rd. They are 31 days old, 20/4 photo period.

4x 20 watt ott light cfl's (around 5200k)

Just started getting preflowers with one! ANY AND ALL feedback would be great OR!
