Hey I am about to harvest sometime soon and i need to get this order in for next season. I want tall plants about 7-8 foot tall that will stay relatively skinny so i can grow them next to eachother with the highest yield i can find haha. I use a 600w HPS and two 150w equivalent CFLs and i hope to add more light this time.

White Widow is not Sativa Dominant, mostly indica.

You should probably look into any of the more popular "Haze" strains available right now. Super Silver Haze, Arjan's Haze (you pick, there are several), G13 Haze, pretty much any haze. Just look to see if the description says something like, "good for SOG/ScOG". Means they grow up thin and tall usually.

Not arguing, but White Widow seeds purchased now will most likely be 60/40 Indica/sativa or close to that. Back in the day it was more Sativa dominant. Probably gonna come down to your source of seeds or clones in the end. Then the phenotype of the plant that you grow will come into play unless from clone. Anyway, he did ask about Sativa plants, and I don't believe that White Widow would qualify. Just my opinion, but backed by a lot of veteran growers here and that write magazines and books on the subject.

Who gives a rat's ass what veteran growers say (no disrespect intended ;-))? I get my info from Shantibaba himself. BTW, the parents have never changed, but like I said before.... knock-offs could be anything, and there are a bunch of breeders selling WW, yet no one has the original parental stock but Shantibaba. He recommends 10 weeks for max potential.

Here's a link regarding the South Indian Hybrid (the other parent is a Brazilian sativa)

Hi All

The south indian hybrid originated from Kovalum Beach, but actually was grown in the mountains of Kerala. It was one of the most knock out effects of all time for me, so I went on safari and into the mountains to find it.After a few days of biking up to the area on my old Enfield I was lucky enough to be sitting in a cafe drinking a chai and smoking a joint. A middle aged looking glassy eyed fellow came over to me and shared my joint. We got pretty wasted and drank tea then he took me back to his village and onto his farm.It turned out this fella was the grower of this strain , and he recognized the smell...sometimes you get lucky! Anyhow I stayed there for several days and went through alot of testing with him. He did not really know alot but selected for the resin production.Considering it is high up and tropical it grew like a sativa but finished alot earlier. He told me the seed had always been in his village but was slightly different depending upon the village you went to to get your things. It was not a big yielder but it was uniquely scented and incredibly pretty frosting as the plant completed it cycle.

Hope that helps a little...all the best Sb

yeah who knows what you are even geting these days with all the different white widow strains out there. it's supposed to be sativa dominant.

good choices imo are:

silver haze (or super silver haze (super silver has more indica in it than the original i believe), or anything with "haze" in the name, neville's haze is supposed to be the shit)
nyc sour diesel
strawberry cough
jack herer (1/4 seeds will be indica)

most "connoisseur grade" cannabis will be sativa dominant, remember sativas are always more work, less product, less overall potency... but give that intense cerebral high that true tokers love, that trippy energetic euphoric high... also usually high paranoia factor unfortunately

look around for the original haze, it's PURE sativa and will easily get to 7 or 8 feet, it has a VERY long flowering period though, like 14 weeks but if you're willing to wait i'm wiling to bet it's worth it

OK so say you don't have the connections to deal with these guys directly and you're cruising through High Times or the web looking for seeds, are you saying that I buy White Widow from any old seed bank I am gonna get a Sativa White Widow? If that's what you think you're deluded. Don't you think this guy would be better served by buying something that says it's Sativa at least? Come on guys I'm not trying to start a fight really. Unless he has really good connections it's a crap shoot with White Widow is what I'm trying to say.

WTF dude? Have you never heard of Mr. Nice Seeds? It's not a secret and you don't need some back-alley connection to get their wares.

As for knock-off... I've already addressed this, but I'll clarify. Mr. Nice Seeds are the only ones who can sell you F1 WW. All the others could be anything.... F2, F3, IBL, BX.... anything. Unless you got the equipment to break down the genome, you can't even be sure it's in the family. He's already told how Dutch Passion and Nirvana came into his shop shortly after WW won the cup, and bought a single pack.

Don't talk about delusion, I've posted links to the source, and if you wanna be a dick about it, I'll boot your ass to the ignore list.... keep you off my screen forever.

ok ignoring the children argueing about the history of WW :

what is a good sativa dominant strain that easy to both grow indoors and clone. decent strength and yield are good too.

i have some unknown sort of sativa that i grow indoors, ive sussed topping and double topping and the like, get a couple ounces per plant no worries. but its a real bitch to clone. it just does not want to be cloned.

any suggestions ?

Every now and then you get a WW like my girl here that is 77 inches tall and full of sticky buds. Luckily I took some clones from her before flowering. She's a Dutch Passion feminised WW. And yes she's mostly Indica, but shows a lot of Sativa traits.

Dutch Dragon from Paradise Seeds is a mostly Sativa plant. Very fruity and good yield. Great head high. Loved it. Started more for my next grow.
