Pope Grows Dope

Did a first round tasting of my flower from Brothers Grimm grow. Did not get too analytical, but the highs were pleasant. Kicked harder than the stuff I am going through from the dispo, but less flavor.

The 222 was the stoneyst of the girls. I was gripping onto my bong and listening to the deafening silence of a oscillating fan.

This morning I rolled a joint that composed of some ground up larf and sugar leaf that I had left in my drying rack, and a very small amount of some other flower and a little hash, that was leftover from yesterday.

While far from an objective sampling for an assessment, there is no "speediness" to the high, which is important for me. As the flower breaks down I am expecting to develop more CBD/N/G and become more stoney.
I was worried that a breeder that leans into their sativa genetics that they would express a headiness that I would find uncomfortable. Maybe the extra week of flowering is to thank.

Other errata -

Seeds I am looking at for future grows are leaning towards berry and hash strains. Current list of want includes

Brisco's Bargain Beans -
SkunkZilla
Pussy Galore
Mom's Berry Pie
Mo Peaches
Skunkberries
Grapezilla

3Thirteen Seeds –
Glueberry Hashplant

Bodhi -
Blueberry Hashplant
Wookie Hashplant
Space Monkey
Mango Hashplant
Pure Land Hashplant

Tastebudz -
Mac Muffin

My buddies here recommended something wild in the hash department. Dragon hash plant when it gets pressed or cut bleeds red. I gotta get more info,on my list. That bodhi list i want also, lol. Another cool plant is mendo blue buds gets bright blue and dry that way and it's a satvia.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend.

Saturday I made it to my grow shop and picked up some 6 inch pots and coir. I up-potted the Sak of Apples and Tangie X Sour Strawberry starts, and moved into my 4x4. I am hoping that the fresh and amended coir, and the less humid environment corrects some of the deficiencies that were present in the 2x2.

Despite what I said about culling the Caddy Rainbow starts, I didn't. I decided that since I objectively knew that it was not an optimal environment that I should give them an opportunity to rebound in the larger space. The short time in the drier space already appears for the better.
I might just grow them out till they are large enough to take clones from to see if they do better.

I also moved the stunted C99xOG Riddler (I nicknamed 99 Problems OG, in my logs) test clone into the 4by4.

I will need a better system to keep my starts and the seedlings/clones separated than using the same drip pan. Not a difficult problem to solve.

Anywho. I have had a full weekend and have been nodding off at my keyboard for the last hour trying to wrap this up. Going to give into the momentum of sleep.

Early smoke report.

Decided to nab a nug of the PU99XGenius.
in the bong we had a subtle berry and anise flavor, with hints of grape, florally accents

rolled a jay - had the smallest amount. flavor came out as more of a sour berry, floralness. Not bad for a few days of cure. Much better than the taste I had a few days ago.

Really enjoying the high. Heady and physical, seems to be calming the physical symptoms of my anxiety, primarily the knots in my tummy. Feeling a little goofy, relaxed, mostly clear headed, a bit of euphoria. maybe a small amount of speediness, but hard to blame on the flower after all the coffee I have had this morning.

Current thought on the product is a solid 7/8 of 10, expectations for things to tighten up as the cure progresses.
relative to the budget flower and shake I have been smoking the last few months, a significant upgrade.

Other errata -

The rooting of clone A from 99 ProblemsOG-A (99P- AA) is showing roots through her rapid rooter, so she will get moved to a solo cub soon. Hoping the 222 girls are shortly behind.

A tent day is a good day.

Got ancy and took my first clones from the Sak Of Apples mothers.

I am hoping that the Tangie X Sour Strawberry plants are ready to take cuttings from this weekend, one is just a little slower than the other two, and I would like to see a little more stretch before snipping.

Along with the C99XOG Riddler, I moved one of the 222 rooted clones to solo cups earlier this week.

thanks fer peepin'

Ended up taking cuttings from the Tangie x Sour Strawberry on Saturday as well.
Saw a lot of wilting/stress on the cuttings for a day or so, but most have rebounded by this morning.

Some random pics of our mothers. Enjoying using the staples for training. Really easy to keep everything low and wide. I can only image the possibilities when used on a plant in a 5 gallon pot.

Interesting note, TxSS #3 had spit her top into 3s, whish I had noticed before snipping.

It is probably the noob in me, but I am thinking I might need to take another round of cuttings for my first round of clones. Not a big deal, as the moms seem to have vigor to spare.

Other errata -
Really enjoyed the 222 samples I have had so far. So much as I started looking at the Romulan side of the genetics. Not sure if I want to rush to get their "stabilized" fems, but the 25 buck a pack testers are looking attractive.

I can understand why growers would not want to grow testers or other cheap/freebie seeds, but when I approach any genetics, because I lack experience in growing, I am never expecting a specific result. I do not trust my experience with commercial weed translates well to the cannabis I grow, so I am in essence, relearning the aspects of the flower.

I am not sure I will do this type of phenohunt in the future. It is just a lot of plants.
Might make more sense to just take cuttings from anything I am growing in anticipation it might be a keeper.
Maybe at the end of this run I will have a change of heart. who knows.

Enjoy yer growing, and thanks fer peepin'

Starting to see a lot of root development in a number of the cuttings, thankfully. at 8 days since taken.
A 3 week cutting of a 222 is also showing life. 2 weeks longer than he sister cutting.

I will go through each cell and take note of who is showing, and decide who gets culled and replaced.
Initially I was hoping to have just one cutting to take to flower from each mother, but I might push that to 2, just to see variation between cuttings.

Other errata -
My impulse controlled failed me, and I ended up adding a few of the Romulan testers to my bank. Not sure when I will grow them, but I have Point Break x Romulan, and Garlic Cocktail x Romulan on their way.

Happy growin'

Sat on my hands until tonight to go through and start culling, after taking extra cuttings over the weekend.
Cuttings SAK4B, TxSS1A, TxSS2A and TxSS2B have been culled, but I think that only 2 or maybe 3 more are likely to need to be chucked.
I have most likely taken way more cuttings than I will need, and unfortunately I do not have a fellow gardener looking to adopt. Not a bad position to be in, but I hate waste.

Rooting has kind of exploded over the past few days. I am hoping to wrap this part up, move everyone into the opposite tent, and get these hot effin' lights s on a 12/12 schedule lol.

I also went ahead and culled the slow grower 222 slip, as her sister is doing exponentially better, and I do not need another at this time.

Thanks fer peepin'

Had a moment and decided to up-pot any gals showing root development. so far we have 8 rooted clones, and culled 4 of the first round of starts for the Sak/TxSS grows.

I think I might go ahead and take a 3rd rnd of cuttings for any donor plant that does not have 2 successfully rooted clones by the end of the weekend.

Just a peep from the tent. First round of clones. There will be more disparity between the cuttings than I would have liked as far as vegetative time. I will just need to keep that in mind when I do my evaluation of the keeper.

The nursery has become the home of our moms as they await their fate.
Anywho, gonna stick my head in a vidyeagame. Happy Growin'

Well we officially have up potted our final starts, giving one or two stragglers I am going to give a few more days before culling, but the clock to flower has begun.
I will give 10-14 days for the final round of cuttings to establish themselves, then we go into flip.
I really wanted to be ready to flip sooner, but I had a number I wanted to hit first.

So goes the grow.

More errata.
Right now the older Saks have a nice, somewhat subtle ripe banana smell. The sole tangie x sour strawberry is strong in a citrus zest nose.

Here is also a side by side of my mom (in the pot) and her first cut. At three months old, the mom is behaving as I anticipated with LST and HST training, and a less than ideal environment for vegetative growth (less powerful light, high temp, high RH, good for cloning and germination).

Despite the less than ideal growspace, the Saks are still vigorous growers.
In the much better regulated 4x4 for vegetative growth, the clones are coming out like gangbusters.

222 Smoke Report.

Of the three strains from my last grow, this has been the favorite.
The 222, despite having the lowest yield, produced some wonderfully dense flower.
I have been meaning to do this review for a moment, but I never made the time. Today I have that time, as my anxiety has peaked and forced my hand in taking a day I will see if this helps the malady its growth is intended to do.

Anxiety is at a 7 now, mind a little racy, shoulders and stomach knotted and tight.

20250731_212510.jpg
The nose is pine and pepper.
Todays papers are Zig Zag Organic Hemp, King sized, thin. about a gram of flower.
The dry pull on my joint is heavy in pinesol.

First pull is heavy in pine and spice. Takes a little time to relax my body. The knots in my stomach are almost immediately remedied, shoulders are a little bit more relaxed

I feel mostly clear headed, but definitely less racy, but still a little anxious. (Honestly, anything that does not cause me raceyness is a W in my book.)
The pine terps are clinging to my tongue, refreshed as I run it against the roof of my mouth.

There is a creepiness to it. I have had the joint down for about 10 minutes and the body sensation is just growing. Heavy and sedative. Mentally I do feel a little slower.

I would not say that it is decreasing my anxiety, but it is making it more manageable. If not for anything else, they reduction in the physical symptoms allows me to focus on the world outside myself a little easier.

The sedative nature means it will be less than ideal for an early or mid day medication, but absolutely appreciated at the end of the day.

Despite the strain being discontinued, I am going to use the limited seeds I have, and cloning, to stock up my stores on this flower, until I find the next great thing.
