Gary Payton x Dirt Stick - Gary Payton is one of our all time favorites. IMO its the best strain that exists. Eventually we will get back around to getting a cut again to work with. I miss having Gary Payton in rotation.

ah ok yep that makes sense, those have been known to be a little slow in veg, we are talking about (allegedly) a ~30+/- year old cut that was reversed and pollinated itself, don't expect any sort of hybrid vigor from these, and not so much like the modern hybrids these days that kick into flower fast.

I soaked then planted 1x alien apple breath and apples and bananas, apple's and bananas sprouted but didn't break the surface afterwards.

Tropicana Cookies x Squirt Sak

Here is a little sneak peak of what I have going on at the moment. Very Tropicana Cookies leaning expression below. The reversed mother from a terp and frost coverage are nearly identical which is the direction we want to take the fem seed line for this strain. Squirt Sak is not appearing to be dominant in this cross. There is one Sak dominant expression but its still early so subject to potential change.

It's shaping up to be Tangie heavy cross which I am excited about. There's a few things Senokai forgot to mention, every single plant this round was female 6/6 - this may be like how our TSS is 'quasi-feminized' but we'll need more data to confirm.
another interesting trait they all had was the main cola slowed and took a backseat - allowing all the lower branches to even out the canopy. At this point the main branch is more like a 'lower' on ALL of them, very strange.

Tropicana Cookies x Squirt Sak Update

Ive got good news and less than ideal news. Lets start with the good news.

The Good News -

Its a banger. Tropicana dominant in structure and largely tangie or citrus terps. Amazing bud structure overall. The pics below are of a Tropicana Cookies heavy lean but in the low end the Squirt Sak plays a supporting role and is taking a back seat. The reg seed version of these will most certainly become a Phenohunt Special. If you have these as freebies I highly recommend giving it a shot.

The Not so good news -

The mother I selected for reversal is just simply too slow to reverse and pollenate in time. Its how the cookie crumbled this time and sadly not all plans comes through and it is what it is.

On the positive side. There could be some time left to pollenate her with the Purple Mountain reversed mothers pollen which is just starting to get going. Will post an update on the Purple Mountain Reversal soon which is off to the races!

Tropicana Cookies Leaning pheno - If I had no idea of Squirt Saks traits I would think this would be Tropicana Cookies.

Tropicana Cookies x Squirt Sak-

The final verdict on this strain is that all the boxes are checked. Complex citrus terps with a strong Trop Cookies lean, huge flavor, great structure and fast flower time. Its too bad the reversed mother didn't drop pollen in time as the flower time is so fast. However the effort isnt without its positive take aways. In the near future these will be offered on the website as an F1 Phenohunt Special offering! It will begreat to have some jars of this for a while!

Im going to tweak the reversal method a little bit going forward and treat plants with STS spray much earlier than I normally would. Will see if that offsets the delay. I dont mind sharing my failures along side the success stories. Stay tuned for the next project in which Cap Junky will take center stage!

Both Tropicana Cookies and Squirt Sak are incredibly resinous strains. Squirt Sak was a damn near perfect match for Trop Cookies seeing that Tangie genetics are a common lineage. I think the Sak made the nugs a little beefier. Even the lower nugs of the plant had a better density compared to just Trop Cookies alone! Big time flavor and complex terps all around!
