I have a top feed rdwc system. (5)7 gal buckets. Water gets sucked to res from rear most buckets and goes to res. Res top feeds with rings on each bucket. I've posted a.photo.
Questions.
1. My rear top feeds don't seem to flow like the front. I've purchased a new pump to hopefully make that situation better. This might.give insight to my issues
2. Everything was great for my autos then it wasn't. Rust patches and spots and yellowing. Turns out my atlas.ppm meter is a different measurement standard than my.usual pen style so I was only.giving 200ppm(when i thought.i was giving 550). I'm now giving 600ppm.
3. Is top feed good only.until the roots touch water? Then put hose into bin to pour into bucket rather than top feed?
4. I noticed my ph.goes up and down. (5.6-5.9) like a roller coaster. Is that considered stable?
5. If ppm goes from like 594 to 601 in 8 hours is that stable? That tells me that maybe they're drinking more than eating? So cut ppm down to like 500?? I'm using the following..
Day1
General hydroponics flora trio
3ml mag per gal
2ml hydroguard per g
3ml micro per g
6mg bloom per g
5.7/750
12 hours later..
6ph 755ppm
So i took out 5 of the 20 gal and replaced with straight RO water. Now it's at the 5.6-5.8 and 600 ppm.
Any tips on how to figure out if what I'm doing is right? They got burned so I don't wanna kill em
