This is my first grow journal on this forum........everyone is welcome to follow along if they like. I will post pics weekly.

Strain - Barney's Farm Gelato
Medium - 70/30 Coco/Perlite
Nutes - GH MaxiBloom from start to finish.......no additives
Water Source - Tap water
Containers - Solo cups for the first 2 weeks, then 1.5 gallon plastic pots for the rest of the grow.
Lights - 8 bulb T5's for the first couple of weeks.......650 watt led for the rest of the grow.
As stated in the title........12/12 from seed.

I planted the seeds directly in the coco and they sprouted 2 days ago........they took 4 days to sprout. I'll post pics at week one.
Hopefully this will show how simple it is to grow in coco with minimal nutes.

One week from sprout.

I started with 100% coco in the solo cups. I usually do a 50/50 coco/perlite mix in the solo cups but I got anxious and started them before I got my perlite. That could be the reason they're a little smaller than my usual one week old sprouts........could also be the 12/12 light schedule.
I started feeding daily with 1/4 tsp Maxi Bloom per gallon of tap water on the third day from sprout........they look healthy.

I didn't set up my tent this time.......just using the frame so I can hang my lights. I'm using a small a/c unit to provide a good temperature, good air flow, and exhaust to the outside. The t5 fixture is about 3" from the top of the plants, and I'm maintaining a temp around 85f with 50% r/h.

Three weeks from sprout.

I transplanted into 1.7 gallon pots at 2 weeks old.
Feeding daily to run off with MaxiBloom at a rate of 1/3 tsp per gallon of tap water.......nothing else.
The plants look great IMO.
No sign of pistils yet.
I'm considering topping them this week........we'll see.
Still using my T5 fixture.

Ya keep things simple Mike. I like that. I don't own a meter either. EC or ph. Seems every time I go chasing ph and ec numbers thing go stupid. Today I just mix it with tap water and feed the same amount from seedling to harvest.

I'm with ya on plant needs. It's amazing how little they need to do their thing.

Barneys is always a good grow. I'ma pull up a chair n see how you do it.

Thanks brother!
I think most of the time that people have problems is because they throw too much shit at the plants........makes diagnosing a problem almost impossible. They think the snake oils will improve taste and yield.........not. Plants only need the basic elements to thrive.
I agree 100%.. It's alot cheaper too..

4 weeks from sprout.

The leaves are getting huge.
I topped all of them at the 5th node last week, which has slowed down the height growth.
I also switched from my t5 fixture to my 650w led.
No sign of pistils yet......I expect they'll start showing this week.
The stretch should be starting soon once they recover from the topping.

Plants look great!! Love the simplicity of your approach. Any reason why you went with maxibloom over alternatives?

So 12/12 from seed. Does that mean you run dli for flower, right from the start?
