My first OS on my PC-Compatible Commodore PC 10-II 8088 machine with 2 - 5.25 floppies and no hard drive was IBM DOS 1.0 that had a very crude Flight Simulator game on it I played for hours. That was in 1987.

This site specifically gives you any info on a .gov food/drug safety alert or recall. You do have to sign up (look for the link next to the red envelope icon) and it does take some effort/reading to identify which Dept's you want to receive info from. You may also want it sent to a unique folder on your email client as you can or will get a lot of emails.

FWIW, If you remember back a few years when they first started having the contaminated eye drop warning(s), I'll be damned if I didn't have some eye drops that had been identified as possibly contaminated that I had bought thru Amazon. Amazon did send out notification of the problem but it was several weeks after the FDA announcement. Thankfully I hadn't used them and Amazon was quick to refund price. So.. .gov was there to help, go figure.

I may have pimped this site before and it's not free, but it reports on foods, supplements, health issues and is well regarded as factual and reliable.
