Septoria Resistant Strains

Salvisa from Lymerising Farms, which was very septoria resistant last year, shines again! Took it down Oct 5th, sticky, hint of fuel in the aroma, looking forward to taste testing soon. Nice 12 foot plant, will be running again next year.

next year, gonna run sfng, superwreck, pineapple muffin, and candy store, and salvisa if I can get the seeds (was a pain last time I tried)...... I need a heavy indica too, couch locker with high septoria resistance in that mix? Starting my seeds Feb 1 this year to get a nice 6-7 toppings.... I lollipop and spread everything out, and has worked pretty well keepiing septoria and other diseases at bay, most of the time.... but more plant management for sure, like every topping adds work .... I gotta get a couple pics on this computer.

This is our 1st offering for resistance to Septoria (OG Tropband) The Mom is a Pheno of Blooms Mnt Trop Bx1 I found that laughs at septoria even in fields of plants that are totally infected. The Dad is OG Koffband by Staefli Farms which has high levels of mold resistance. Together they're a match made in Heaven displaying resistance to Septoria, Botrytis and Powdery mildew. The cultivar can be found on Strainly. The only other strain I know of in the whole community claiming Septoria Resistance is Limonada by Mendocino Twenty20. This year I'm only running our strains with that Mnt Trop cut (4 now total) and that Limonada to hunt for Phenos that are immune to Septoria. No more playing games with expensive seed packs to only lose them to the blight. Septoria is hands down the most vicious adversary I've even encountered in all my years of Cultivating this plant. Thanks for making a whole Thread about it. Growers Love

I have not heard of those strains before, but I am glad to hear others are finding success fighting septoria! Salvisa by Lymerising Farms has displayed almost total résistance to septoria, for 2 successive years for me! Other strains from Lymerising that have The Work, or its crosses have also done well! The Work is a collaboration project that Lymrising Farms did the final selections on. Here is a link to the Salvisa which did so well for me outdoors.
This is what the plant looked like in late Sept., 2024.

where can someone buy OG Topband seeds. Other characteristics available about outside harvest time range, sat.indica leaning, growth properties?.... Looks like a little septoria in that pic, but you are near harvest in the pic, and most leaves are are still working a little, not diseased and making wanker buds to finish the last few weeks, yuck.... that's what happens, septoria shuts those leaves down and they make wanker smelling stuff when your leaves should be putting a finish on healthy terp expression (90% of thca is made before the last 10 days for most strains)....... How much did you have to larf to keep her that healthy. That's the key here, plants gotta be super healthy going into september. What region are you growing in? I'll have to look into the limonada. You have ran those outside before? Yeah, septoria is evil. I do a bunch of work on a 800 gallon pot/hole in the ground (4 yards) and could have it go to hell with septoria. I only put in so much work on a handlful of plants, so everything I plant I really need to have confidence in it's septoria resistence first, then pm, bot and aphids...pesky bastards.

Does that OG Topband keep stretching during flower. That appears to be one important characteristic of plants that's important in this septoria conversation. When the plant keeps stretching during flower it allows you to larf out any rouge septoria in the lower plant while your fruit stays healthy and moving toward the sun.... so the stretch and associated leaf growth keeps the plant taking up nutrients and fight disease in it's tops...... that stretch also allows for continued spreading of the plant for better air and sun, and that fights septoria........... plants that tend to die out in late september yet need to get to oct 10 will break a gardners heart watching septoria thrash their 6 month project.....so, I think breeding for septoria resistance should be considerate of this plant property...both in crossing and pheno hunting.

This guy is currently in southeast Oklahoma and grows and breed outdoors and indoors. He has told me that he has some selections that do very well against septoria. He is also involved in the Grateful Head tissue culture project. https://goldenroadseedco.com/
