I keep telling you guys, your issues are with Arrow and digikey or whoever you're buying from. They set the prices you're paying and complain about, not cree. Those distis are making 50% margin or even more. You would have done that with citizen, lumileds or any COB of that time too. In fact, lumileds were and are more efficient than Cree. I'm not saying cree doesn't grow bud, I'm saying their pricing has not been feasible compared to Osram in their mono lineup, and I'm not buying the fact that we need to move to Cree because Samsung is ending production. There are a lot better options out there, at much lower prices. The brand-hype inflated prices should end...
So again, need to seperate ones tiny DIY needs from what the industry should be using to make the best performing and valued products for Horti. Lumileds is constantly filling chapter 11. Osram is great, but they are not cheaper in real production. Specially on the whites. Reds they have great volume and stay competitive. Citizen has been caught 2x in 6 years for lying about their output and LM80's.
If any of you think any LED company is "leading" over any other by more than 2% your crazy and that is the brand hype that ruins the industry Goes both way with kids " too cool" to make the best decision and want to "be different".
Was samsung the most efficient white in the world by 2% for a while...yes
Did that last...no
Have multiple brands stepped into and rotated through the #1 spot in the last 2 years...yes its a constant game of 1-2% leap frog every 6-9 months.
I'll make it easy for you...you say the others on your list, I'll layout the data....cause so far, not a single person has show data or examples. "Better" is not a performance metric.
