Biden's lame duck presidency, what does the old guy have in his tank?

Im an outside of US observer..

Re Hunter Biden Pardon: fully understand Biden doing it. Im a family kinda guy and would have a hard time not doing the same in his shoes.

On the other hand...

On youtube i get a lot of dem leaning content(im leftish but not US leftish) and i was SO SURPRISED about the comment sections re the pardon: it was an endless nonstop uniform hailing of his action which really seemed like the same type of group think that i see hear and despise from MAGA crowd. The main points was that it was not really a crime and even if it was he should do it cause Trump did it anyway and f you all if you have any other ideas. Pure group think. Seems like youre living some sort of weird 1984 over there, i really felt like i could actually understand (though i would never ever myself if given the option) people who voted for trump.

Its sad but it seems like Bernie sanders was 8 years too early with his pitch for "common sense politics for everybody".
I really hope you can sort yourselves out, both right and left but dont envy the next generation of politicians who get to inherit this mess. My deepest sympathies to all

Liberal Democrats and MAGA Republicans aren't really much different from each other aside from beliefs . Neither will do anything but fight and denigrate each other . Moderates on both sides just sit back and scratch their heads .

I havent really figured out the depth of it all until now. Its just weird (yet fascinating!) to see US politics from the outside; in my country "the liberals" is part of the right coalition, the left coalition is social democrats, left party, greens and "centre party" - which seems to me to be te party of the "right-leaning-but-i-never-want-my-vote-to-support-a-government-with-the-extreme-right" and for the less densely populated areas. When i look at whats on offer here politically i feel so spoiled with choice compared to the US, no wonder you have a hard time getting people to vote.
I really hope someone can come up with a better system than your "winner takes all" approach, it only leads to a partisan two party system. To think that just a few thousands Ohioans can flipp the fate of world history in most elections is really scary. Other youtube content from the left seems to ask for recounts and claiming voter fraud, like a f-ing echo from 2020. It really boggles my mind.Feel for yall...

At the end of the day its all an illusion so called democracy , when you vote for a figurehead and not the policies its a farce . They get into power on promises and hardly follow through with them but then impliment a shitload of policies you have no say on .
Having people vote for party members instead of voting on policies is a good way to side track people and get them all arguing with each other while they do what they want and push bills through parliment .
The world is a stage !

One of my favourite takes on democracy is the absence of no votes: you should be able to vote against whatever you dont like without having to vote yes for another less stupid yet still idiotic alternative. Problem with this is that no major party would end up with a net positive amount of votes, which of course is a bad look on everybody.

The Hunter pardon is a tempest in a teapot. Of course it doesn't look good for the Dem party but I have a hard time believing voters will punish one party for that and at the same time forgive the other party for a host of crimes and terrible behavior.

The Dems need to break away from the billionaire donors and get back down to earth to fix an image problem.
