HLG 350 Diablo question?

Is this the best light available for a 2x4 tent? Im looking at getting the best light on the market for this size tent, money is not a factor, I just want the best possible. I currently run 2 mars hydro ts1000 so it’s time for an upgrade. I figure with black Friday coming I can score a deal.

100% recomend HLG. 350w is probably overkill for a 2x4
Overkill is good right? Better to have it power wise and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Not sure if they offer any lower, but not too low wattage for a 2x4 area.

Or should I go with the HLg 320 Rspec?

Id look into and compare with growlights australia. Or figuring out how to add some near uv leds to your diablos. Youll thank me when you taste the buds ;)

I run a 320rspec in a 3x4x6 and keep it dimmed to 60-70% this put my light on temps in the low to mid 80'sF and it still blows my MH t2000 at full crank out the water. I dont have the best ventilation set up, no good way to dump outside/wife wont let me vent into the hvac and only use a 4inch fan if you use a 6in and can move your air well outside your lung room you might be able to go full crank in a 2x4

Sweet, yeah I have a 6” inline and can run it outside. I will compare the 2 (350 diablo and 320rspec). I am guessing your satisfied with the 320rspec.

If you really want the absolute best and youre into tinkering id recommend building your own light out of your own components. It all depends on what is your priorities and how you define "best growlight" - yield? Bud quality?
Also make sure you factor in hanging height in the equation, im pretty sure the diablos on max output is going to need some serious height inorder to not bleach your buds.
But i sincerely recommend DIY, the feeling you get everytime you blow your own personal bests out of the water is amazing, along with that first time you turn it on and completely blind yourself, seeing little colored dots all across your field of vision for 10 mins, lol. Its a deep and addictive rabbit hole...

I considered that diy route because I am an electrical guy by trade but dont really have the time when I can just fork out some cash and get a good grow light. Mainly I look for quality bud over yield. Not trying to mass produce any, just some great smoke and possibly breeding.

I will never recomend anyone buy a mid tier light again unless its at a heavy discount, budget lights do just as good at 1/2 the cost and the production/flower quality, longjevity, cust service of HLG/Other highend lights more then make up for the extra cost.

I also agree with @Rocket Soul If your an electitrition by trade you should be able to build a clone of either light for about 1/10 the price +a few hr time

HLG is absolutely recommended for any stateside customer, they even have the r-spec board + heat sink kits, all you need is a power supply and some angle to make a frame. There are many benefits of this approach, if you where to up your tent size you can just mod your light to get the perfect fit.
You do not need to be an electrician though, if youre able to push a wire into a pushin connector you can build a light. Boards and strips do not need to be soldered anymore they come easy to setup. People was doing this on the forum ten years ago when no decent priced and effective led lights were around. This is actually is the context that HLG was born from, riu led section and building lights diy style.
Though price wise its now almost rhe same price, china lights are incredibly cheap nowadays, but at least you have the safety in knowing all the components that go inside. And you get to build something perfect for your own needs. And the satisfaction of your own design beating records. Did i mention i like DIY? Seriously cant recommend it more.
Only problem is that the diablos are generally not available for diy; they cant handle reverse polarity which means if you wire them wrong you blow the red mono leds. Some peeps kept doing this so they pulled them from their web and now they only go in finished lights. @CobKits usually keeps some stock though.

I bought a HLG 350r Diablo in August of 2023 and it powers on and off intermittently. I didn't catch the problem for a while and it totally fucked my grow. Anyway, HLG claims the problem was from a faulty dimmer so they're sending me a new one. We'll see...
