I'll flesh out my story a bit by talking about one of the landmark battles of the Crimean War. It was the Battle of Balaclava.

How it all went down:

View attachment 5439629

The battle, which went down in history under the name of Balaklava, took place on October 13 (25), 1854.

Sixteen thousand Russian soldiers moved from the village of Chorgun (modern Chernorechye) to Balaklava.

On Semyakinnye heights they seized the English redoubts, on which the Turkish troops were serving.

Occupying these fortifications, seizing the fortress cannons, the Russian command achieved a tactical success: Balaklava was in the crosshairs of Russian cannons.

The commander-in-chief of the British troops Lord Raglan gives the infamous order-“...Lord Raglan wants the cavalry to quickly go on the offensive against the enemy in front of it and did not allow him to take back the cannons”. As we can see the lord was an inept military commander, with virtually no experience of warfare. Unable to assess the situation on the battlefield, he authorized a cavalry attack under the crossfire of Russian guns. The cavalry avalanche of attackers was shelled by Russian artillery from the Fedyukhin Heights (left) and the newly captured English redoubts (right). And Russian cavalry rushed at the English at point-blank range - from the side of the Dry River. The English began to retreat. Hundreds of killed and wounded were left lying on the trampled field. From a complete defeat of the English cavalry was saved only by the French help. The death of the light cavalry brigade was especially tragic due to the fact that it was composed of scions of the most noble families of Britain. Balaklava valley was flooded with “blue blood” of the British aristocracy. The British called this day “disaster unsurpassed in history”, So ended the Battle of Balaklava, Success was on the side of the Russians, However, later captured redoubts Russian left, and the main task - the liberation of Balaklava was not solved.

Do you know what that monument is and where it is?)))))

It's a monument to the British soldiers who died at the Battle of Balaclava, erected by the British, it's on the site of the battle in the Crimea. You see, nobody broke it, nobody desecrated it! I told you before, it's right to respect your enemy.

In 1945, the Death Valley near Balaklava was visited by Winston Churchill, the head of the British government. He laid flowers at the obelisk where one of his distinguished blood relatives, the Earl of Marlborough, died.

You probably didn't know, but after that battle, the phrase “cannon fodder” entered the world's military parlance. You know who it's in honor of.
Yeah Churchill was a prick he ordered the gassing of people and all sorts

Obviously folk heroes are romanticised however you have to understand the whole divide and conquer works well with traitors in the mix even better that's the problem over here imo one thing that I don't get about Crimea is you guys got restrictions on cannabis still yet you guys have places where ruderal cannabis exists? Like that's a treasure I wish more countries realised what they got and it's value before it's extinct through hybridisation
a few places about has wild hemp growing on it.

@Sedan, this famous poem was written about that famous decision in Balaklava: “The charge of the light brigade”

.
I read the poem.

Yes, the battle itself is very authentic. There's the crossfire of the cannons and the frontal attack of the Cossacks. And the horror of what happened there is very realistic.

Even the Russians appreciated the bravery of the British cavalrymen - it was very brave, because this attack was suicide in essence.

Only the Russians did not run away there, the author was a little misleading))). Betrayed romanticism, of course.

Everything there was simple, a talentless military commander sent his soldiers to the slaughter - cannon fodder.

In addition to my story, I want to tell you about who the Cossacks really are.

No, they are not those funny guys from the cartoons who play soccer.

Cossacks are professional military - they're mercenaries.

Translated into modern language, Cossacks are PMCs.

If you have the money to buy a horse and uniform, you quit your job and go to a Cossack settlement, sign up for service, for which you are paid money.

Ataman (Rus), Hetman (Ukr) were at the head of the Cossacks, Cossack settlements existed then in all the territory of then Russia. Even beyond the Urals.

This is what the Ural Cossacks looked like

1731839512800.png

Russian (Don Cossack) on the left, Ukrainian (from a cartoon) on the right

1731839693801.png

There were Cossack settlements all over the territory of present-day Russia and Ukraine

Sometimes they reached the size of a small state. But it was not a state formation, but a military formation.

Ataman or Hetman is not the president, as it is now commonly called

1731839941270.png

, but the boss of PMCs (Prigozhin).

During their history, the Cossacks from the cartoon fought for both the Ottoman Empire and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. When they were part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Poland) they rebelled against the Polish king. But they could not defeat Poland alone, so they turned to Russia for help. Together they kicked the Poles out of their land, but with the condition that from now on they would serve Russia and stay in their settlement.

Of course Cossacks are very unruly and freedom-loving. They also revolted against Russia a few hundred years later (Prigozhin's campaign against Moscow). Pu... ugh. Katerina the Great suppressed this rebellion, for which the Cossacks still hate her.

(sorry for the associations, but it will be clearer for you to understand).

Yeah, it's been romanticized a lot over the years.

MissinThe90'sStrains is unlikely to know about the Crimean landrace.

He was born in the United States.

Again...this is a big surprise to me!

If someone twenty years ago would have said that the best marijuana grows in Crimea... I would have laughed for a long time. Because I always thought that

the truth was out there.))

abroad.

all the best stuff is there.)))

It's been drummed into my head since the early nineties... I believed it once... many people still believe it today.

When we didn't have the internet yet, we didn't have different mutant hybrids... no one knew how to grow or what they were.

But I've been smoking for a long time. At that time I didn't know what buds were, because in our area marijuana doesn't have time to mature properly in the outdoors. The buds don't have time to form before frost. We had grinded weed for sale. It was measured in matchboxes-- not ounces or grams, but matchboxes. The first time I tasted real buds, they were buds that came from the Crimea, it was a real experience.

It was the best product you could buy in Ukraine. It had a separate name (slang) Krymka.

I found seeds in these buds - it was in the early 90s. Then I first planted seeds in the ground at my parents' country house... in the vegetable garden.

As for the Krymka landrace itself, it is also very romanticized. We're always talking about mutant hybrids. GMOs... that back then there was real stuff, not like now.

But I think it's more of a childhood memory..... romance.)))) I am quite satisfied with hybrids now and on the strength and the way they grow, the main thing is to know where normal seeds can be bought. IMHO

)) Bro, I advise you to be careful what you say! If you say that, you're also confirming the fact that Truman is even more evil because he not only gassed...he killed 150,000 Japanese civilians in a matter of seconds. Churchill smokes nervously...aside.)))

That's why I didn't hear it... and I didn't have that conversation!))

And seriously, I disagree with you completely!

He wasn't a fool, not even close. You'd be surprised what bloody Stalin called him among his party comrades. No, not a fool or an alcoholic, he called him a .... Sly fox.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more cunning and cunning politician! Thanks to him, you don't speak German now! I'm telling you the truth, there's nothing more to add!

He's a hero for his country! He's also very brave. When London was bombed, he used to go on the roof and watch the city. He made one very important decision when Germany offered Britain a “favorable” surrender... he refused, even though the whole government was FOR it! Only because they were very afraid of Hitler. Churchill wasn't!

Yes, he was an ardent Russophobe, like you. But it's not your fault, it's just the way history has worked out!

Agree to disagree to me there just as bad as each other using chemical weapons or nukes is just wrong in my book especially considering if you look at the statistics they done more damage to Japan using incendiary devices than by dropping nuclear weapons makes sense when you look at what they build with over there

Weapons of mass destruction and the people that use them are all pretty evil, but I think the most evil of people are the ones that decide to lay minefields in other countries. Mines kill innocent people, years after the conflicts have ended.

Edit : I’ve seen a “blue Crimean” hashplant for sale before. I wanted to buy it because, “heritage”

Bro, this is a very toxic topic...I've told you that before!

Yeah, like napalm bombing civilians in Vietnam, or carpet bombing civilians in Belgrade with depleted uranium bombs, or the Nazis gassing concentration camp inmates and then burning them... it's a lot of things, Breaux...

The only person I know with it is the guy who sells the seeds
I know better)))))

Crimean seeds (крымские семена)

1731847902742.png

to lay minefields in other countries.
Most of all, these are cluster munitions, 30% of them do not break, they are banned officially, Ukraine was the first to start using them. The Americans were kind enough to provide them.))

But the thing is that the Russians have ten times more of these cluster munitions..... And they just had to give permission to use them...

more weapons, more weapons, more weapons!

Guys, let's not talk about this! It won't lead to anything good, this topic is like a red rag to a bull for me!

Andrei knows.

let's talk about history.)

Barney's farm
I can tell you're European.) I also buy from Barney's... but not Crimean....

If there were no sanctions, I would ask and they would give you free real Crimean seeds. What is sold in European cans, I don't believe there is Crimean strein in there. It's more of a big name. Landrace is incredibly difficult to cultivate, and not all landrace is cultivable, it's a long years work. I know people here who have tried to cultivate krymka. i won't say it was a straight bomb.....
