During the pandemic I remember hearing how shelters got cleared out. That is a whole lot of elderly pets that were thankfully found new homes. Now a few years later it would make sense that people would see a uptick on putting their elderly pets down humanely.

I didn't know FEMA gave out $750 instantly in those areas hit to the people that show up to for emergency funds to anyone that comes to them along with a application to fill out to get further aid.
I bet it is a very cost effective way to cross some houses to visit off the list. As they show I am sure there is some kind of registry to help find everyone impacted.

We just did a disaster preparedness walk through of all our stuff and how we would pack and what we would take. Starting with our bags . Large duffle bags make stuffing quick and easy. We should be able to get what we need into the bags and out the door in 10 minutes. Then we need to stuff the car up and get out of the garage. What direction do you suggest we drive? I live super close to 280, 17 and 880. Our lease is up next June and I’m thinking about getting an electric RV and do travel work . It would make it easy to move away from oncoming natural disasters in seconds. I think about Florida and hurricanes…. Like where are all the evacuees supposed to go? All at the same time and does your employer offer PTO for that?

280 North to San Fran. When I lived in Campbell for a few years I lived right by those 3 too and i would always take 280 if the job site was up towards SF. When I still lived in Almaden I would take 85 over to 280. 17/880 gets jacked easily. You can always cut over to Half Moon Bay or Pacifica too. Commuting on the 101 up to the city is bringing back bad memories.

I live very close to Campbell. At the end of the Los Gatos creek trail. My office window looks out south on 280 merging into 17 and 880.
Bottleneck area. I do prefer 92 over to half moon. Half moon is probably my favorite place on the coast. It’s so chill and less crowds with awesome beaches and wide open coast trail. I ride my bike to work. Short distance but still very difficult with glass and thorns that flatten my tire , deranged homeless people harassing me and aggressively drivers ready to run me over.

You can look up the You Tube videos from her, it's not misinformation its truth that is being hidden. I am in the areas affected, luckily for me I am on the outside of the area that got hit the hardest. I am telling you facts that if it weren't for citizens in the NC/SC/VA/and TN areas as well as Samaritans purse, there is very little federal assistance here. Don't believe the media that Fed help is there, if it is they are laying low and out of touch. There were stores donating chain saws and other items which were turned away by FEMA officials, why? Believe it from someone here, the Federal Assistance is well behind where they should be. DON"T BELIEVE THE MEDIA HYPE LISTEN TO PEOPLE THERE! Also the $750 has to be applied for online, and many have no access to computers at this time, and many who have applied have been told they don't qualify. These are people with nowhere to go except to volunteers who are willing to assist.

I am happy that you are safe after that and hope that your neighbors recover as soon as possible. I don't know anything about what is going on down there, and hope that all the shit is getting worked out. I would think that there would be computers at the pop up centers to do the applications, if they didn't that would be screwed up.
I saw something about chainsaws down there earlier being handed out by FEMA, but not sure right now. I would hope that those businesses were able to donate them to people directly. I know one way that the guy from FEMA was saying they got people to take goods was to ask them to help get the stuff to people they knew who were in need.
I am sure though that I can look for anything I can imagine and find it on some YouTube video. With everything being caught and edited out of context it wouldn't be hard to imagine someone saying something incorrectly from time to time being used to say something happened that never did.

Milton came within 35 miles of Progreso. That would have shaved off a few mph. Going down to 155 so fast is a good thing. We will have to wait and see if it picks back up once it is away from land. Shear should start working on it tomorrow.
