So ive been growing for over 30 years, started in the wilds of ontario growing outdoor for years(fucking loved every minute of it!!!)got domesticated and started growing indoors in my early 30's.i took 5 years off when it went legal, but my green thumb is itching and its time to get r done again!.
I always jerry rig a room up like a typical redneck, but this time i spent some green on some new equipment and will be going all organic in a 4x4x1' raised bed with pre ammended gaia green, kelp, and some other organic goodies.there will be no drainage in this grow at all.just water with earerated teas to feed and water.i have csi chemdog d,flight risk and chem 91 x chem d about 12 days from seed now under 6400k led lights,7 seedlings in total.
I bought a floraflex 730 watt led fixture,a 4x6x7' tent with a 4x4 flower area and a 1x4 little veg area as well which is a bonus,$120 from amazon,gotta love'em!
Ordered a new t3 humidifier a couple 9" floor fans amd a bar mount fan,trellis netting......what else???im really high right now...lol
I already mixed up my seedlings and dont know which is which, all good,i love surprises.
Im 51,with early onset ailstimers so this should be interesting.. ..
Over the next few weeks i will post as i get the room going and set up.......whos in?

Aw mate this all sounds epic, from the organic beds, led choice, seed choice, space vs light ratio, you can see you've put some serious thought into this set up and I hope it pays off big time for you and I'm sure it will!

have u ran any of these genetics before? I've had all of those in my basket at one point but never ran any csi gear before. Count me in for the ride.

edit. What you using for cooling the space? Ventilation? Ac?

Ive ran the chemd and it is the best pot ive ever smoked in my 51 years of life.i think ill just stick with csi,i dont see myself running anyone elses gear except i just bought a pack of holyfield from romulan genetics because its said to be amazing for insomnia.i grew the lemon tree from csi as well and ive also grown the real LT cut and i can tell you it was dead on the money, out of 6 seeds,2 were pretty much idemtical to the cut.
And the chemd is just stupifying, does me right in.i highly highly recommend it.
Im goibg to grab a pack of triangle kush too,the reviews on that are amazing too.google csi humboldt chemdog d reviews.never seem a reproduction so highly rated as being incredibly potent.
I am not affiliated with csi in any way,he just really knows hos shit and is a really generous guy.

And thank you so much for your compliment vlue brother, made my morning.

You're so welcome mate!
Fantastic!
he's got so much stuff I've wanted over the years, the flight risk has been the latest, I mainly just grow one or 2 cuts these days but when it comes time to pop some more seeds I'm gonna go for csi, I hear so many people praising him on here and on the street.

have you done beds before? I used to run 100gallon beds and loved them. I did no til and never disturbed the soil for around 2 years, just top dressed periodically. I only changed cos of my process changing and opting for a more perpetual grow style, I still run 15 ish gallon pots and still do no til.

Best runs ive done were in beds.i pulled 2.7 lbs off 1k once with sweettooth#3.
Im thinking im going to cut a big 40" round piece of 1/2" thick plywood, put castors on the bottom so i can rotate it...and put a 100 gallin grow bag on top.i am constantly second guessing myself

Heres my temporary tent,i ordered a 4x4 tent with a one foot add on seedling room which is cool.i got a good humidifier, and going to get humidity and temp sensors to run the fans.got some nice full spectrum t8 lights from barrina, great lights,i got 6-2ft lights for $90 shipped.
I bought a pack of holyfield seeds cause i hear its great for insomnia.anyone have experience with this

This is a cool idea and would turn out to be very helpful indeed, just look out for weight restrictions for the castors and a way to support the plywood so it doesn't bow, you'd likely have to screw the castors into a frame of sorts and screw the plywood to that frame.

Looking fantastic mate, I've never heard of Barrina, I'll have a look, I could do with some new mother and early veg lights. I didn't know if u we're gonna go 5x5 or 4x4 when I seen the spec of your light, ur abit like me, I allways max out the light for the space, not shoehorning the biggest light into a space would have me thinking I'd left something on the table yield wise.

keep up the good work.

I put the seedlings umder the light at 50%,well they are not seedlimgs really anymore....anyhoo they do not like that light!!im sure they are just too young to handle the intensity yet,ive seen it before when changing from flouros to hps too early.i put them back under leds and they are fine now.

I feel like 2-3 cups per cubic foot (~7.5 gallons) is a pretty good starting point, so 13-20 cups for 50-ish gallons.

If it were me I would just use the 4-4-4 in the initial mix, and maybe top-dress with the 2-8-4 in flower if you think it's needed...? They both contain kelp meal so not sure you need to add extra (it's called seaweed meal in the ingredients list, but it's the same thing Ascophyllum nodosum).

Hell yeah! Whats the weather like up there? Seasons change. It gets humid where I am around now (coastal) and pays off to have a good dehumidifier as well . Once you can control light, airflow, temp, humidity, and nutrients it becomes pretty easy!
Growing used to be a big mystery to me, sometimes I did great and sometimes not. I finally realized the watering frequency was dependent on the light and humidity and temp... and air

Furthermore, if you have the correct amount of light (look into Daily Light Integral), with a constant nutrient, temperature(small fluctuation at night but not too much) , humidity (less at flowering) , air exchange (enough co2 lights on.. not too much because extra here and there will throw off watering freq) , temperature [Vapor Pressure Deficit(this gets confusing.. u will need to look into it. it has to do with how the leaf temp and light source/ humidity/temp affects the plant, but you have to be careful and sacrifice VPD mid-late flower and not give too much humidity and rot big ass buds)]

Anyways if it doesn't get to humid where you are, no need for a Dehumidifier. For me it was a game changer and made watering alot more constant
Automation is a game changer for me, ill never go back . Hand watering only for the small ones. Excited to see how your crop turns out thank you for sharing!
