What kind of filtering? Have you tested the well water at all like ppm and pH?
If you're talking RO filter then for sure you can use it but especially with coco you're going to be wanting to add CalMag on top of what will be in those nutes which should already have a fair amount. The coco specific nutes have extra Ca and Mg due to coco fibre needing more than peat based grow mediums.
My well water is ph 6 n 10 ppm.
Was thinking of using a pur filter
When I tried it the ppm went up to 15
Don't know what ur saying?10ppm? Nestles would be in the process of removing you.
Sorry, that's very pure water and in volume it's very valuable.Don't know what ur saying?
I guess I'm gonna buy a new ph /tds meter with calibration fluid n test it again.Sorry, that's very pure water and in volume it's very valuable.
I would calibrate my meter and retest. Just maybe call a industrial realtor.
How old are the the testers you're using now? Maybe all you need is some fresh calibration fluids and an adjustment here and there. TDS pens usually last forever and I have a Hanna I bought in '82 for $70Can that still works fine with good batteries. My pH pen is at least 12 years old and works good enough tho slow and was $85.I guess I'm gonna buy a new ph /tds meter with calibration fluid n test it again.
.thanks for the info
Wow..you're very knowledgeable...I really appreciate the info..my ph pen and ppm pen are the cheap ones ...I have em for almost a year...but I also have the ph ink (that's what I'm using)...but I will get a new meter ordered from Amazon...gotta wait until the 4th for it to be deliveredHow old are the the testers you're using now? You should have pH4 and 7 for testing the pH pen and 1000ppm fluid for your ppm pen. Some storage sol'n for the pH pen helps keep it well saturated between uses and a 2-part cleaning sol'n kit doesn't hurt either.
The pH pen should be rinsed with clean water between uses so I keep a spray bottle with RO water handy for that. Then it should be put in storage sol'n and rinsed again before use. Mine has a cap I keep half full so the bulb in the pH probe is submerged in storage. The ppm pen should be rinsed as well but then left open to dry out between uses.
Cheap ppm pens are OK but cheap pH pens usually don't last very long.
There was a bear spotted on a popular walking trail half a mile from my house.Mountain Lion seen on my normal walk area and a hundred yards from my place. Bear Spray back on the hip for a while, again.
