Stronger rooting agent make cloning easier??

Is there a cloning section on this site and I just can't find it? I do try to stick to appropriate forums.

Well, I got too comfortable cloning, and my latest batch is having all kinds of problems striking roots.
I was doing just about anything I wanted and they would clone. Now, using RW and Clonex and a dome... I'm getting a very very low success rate.
I'm wondering if something like Hormodin 3 would be better since it has a .8% IBA. Clonex is .31%

I went down the rabbit hole of trying to get awesome clones. I realized the easiest approach was a bubble ponic cloner with just plain water. The aero cloner was just way too much water even though it does product better roots
The key for me is, sterile cuttings tools, swap res every 2-3 days , and not too much light. The amount of light is very important. My faucet water contains chloramine so it stays sterile a few days.

All the hormone the plant needs is inside itself in my experience, not having anything in the water helps keep the clone from rotting out when trying to root.

100% success rate. Never worried. Root riot and KLN. ACI dome and mat. The dome allows tray to sit suspended in water. Just fill once or twice and done 10-14 days planted.

What is KLN? Your root riots must be saturated then for the entire process?

KLN by dynagro its a hornone some use clonex some use kln. Same stuff everyones mileage varies like one said above they use aeroclone but I cant root in them. Or any other way infact.

It just was a method some here do and shared with me when I was down on luck. Cant perpetuate if you cant clone.

They stay only just touching the bottom of root riot plugs they wick up water as needed. I struggled with them drying out over night. The dome helps with that too but must keep holes open up top.

So the plugs are always optimal moisture level, the heat mat doubles the speed of root time. Idk if the high humidity from dome does too but this works solid for me.

I do clean new blades in h2o2 and cut at an angle on a node. I dont switch blades per plant only if I didnt cut with it right then and there.

I just hold the cut with my fingers marking beside the plug how deep I want to go. Not too deep so its far from the actual water by an inch or so. So its not sitting in water. When they root if you let it beard up it will grow into the water just fine.

This is important so it can root in that optimal moisture and oxygen level but once it roots and touches water its fine.

I always get yellow leaves theyll act a little funny but essencially theyre fine and robust and do their job. Some mold probably mycelium. Its ready to plant by then.

I used an aero cloner for a while, but I got inconsistent results, I started using pool shock and that helped a lot but still had issues at times. I now use the root riot plugs and a cloning gel, but I didn’t have the floating tray. I found the root riot plugs fit right in the 1.5” holes of the aero cloner, so I stuck them in there and put it on a recurring timer to water just 30 seconds every 6 hours, works great, 100% the first couple runs in it.

Are you cloning the same plants perpetually?

Ime most of common methods work pretty well rapid rooting is more to do with the environment and the health/stage of the donor plant.

I use Hormex rooting powder (the medium strength one). It’s cheap and has more of the active hormone ingredient than clonex. Clip cutting, re-cut through node at an angle, dip in powder, put into wet rooting plug. Remove lower leaves from cut, and trim back the leaves that remain, to reduce transpiration. Cut gets placed into solo cup with about a tbsp of water at the bottom to keep the plug wet. Cups are put in humidity dome with heat mat. I open the dome and mist daily with plain water. Dome is kept in the corner of the veg tent, with a piece of paper over the top to dim/filter the light. Haven’t lost a cut in 2 years doing it this way.

Inwould take about 5 cuts say ..into a glass of water
Then would tske out of glass of water
Cut the stem a wee bit shorter again in an angle
Dip into clonee gel ..prob not a good idea like cause you put the lid on the gel use it again ..mighten be the most hygienic
Into a pre done jiffy ..prefer room temp water in the jiffy
I'd cut half of the leaves off ...watched a video years ago always done it
Into a propogator..either heated
.or heat mat ..I've a heat mat ..think it's important having heat ..well they are not cold ..might make rooting take longer
