Examples of GOP Leadership

My FL House rep came to my door canvassing with a big smile. Of course I was friendly and truly happy to meet him. He asked what concerns I had and my reply was "Save democracy". I could see his face sink a little so I knew immediately that he was a black Republican. I took his flyer, gave him a little fist bump goodbye and then looked at his website. I sent him a DM via Facebook. I let him know it was a direct message instead of a comment on Facebook, because I didn't want to appear antagonistic. But I let him know that I realized I had voted for him because I like prosecutors (true) but I would not vote Republican again until they cleaned house. I said I felt both the Florida legislature and the GOP were going down the road of fascism. He thanked me for the feedback and said he hoped he would still earn my vote but I replied I was still firmly committed to democracy.

This morning I got a golden opportunity. I don't know why but I looked further into his record and discovered he was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and before the idiotic pet eating propaganda started, he had written a bill that to appoint courtroom advocates for animal cruelty cases. It died in committee so I wrote to him directly again to suggest he might want to revive the bill to let people know he wasn't going to eat their pets ;). I told him he must be aware of the dangers of hateful and divisive rhetoric. I plan to keep up the friendly pressure.
DUUUUUDE!!!!

except Tswift, is also friends and posting how she can be friends with someone who endorses donald trump brittany mahomes, and they have a bunch of "we can still disagree and be friends "crap posted
Are you saying it’s wrong to still be friends and civil when your friends support Trump? As much as I detest him I still have friends that support him. We agree to disagree and do discuss the political landscape, keeping it amicable. I, for the life of me don’t get it but it is what it is and not worth a life long friendship. Trumps not worth it IMO.

Correct, because Trump supporters want to remove human rights and are for human rights violations which impact the livelihood of others, along with providing racism, sexism, homophobia etc.

this photo sums it up perfectly

I have a pretty good buddy in the city that I'm having mixed feelings about. Since his wife passed over a year ago he's been going deeper down the rabbit hole he was already well dug into. Posts quite a few links to hard right leaning videos about climate, vaxxines, war in Ukraine etc on FB. After a bit of a heated discussion with him and a like-thinking buddy of his we've kind of stayed away from such topics since.

I haven't seen much about his attitudes toward our own Canadian tRump wannabe conservatives but pretty sure he likes them like tRump.

I do agree with this guy's take on it tho.

Dropping a good buddy is a tough thing to contemplate especially as I know he's hurting bad about the loss of his wife. Not like I have so many good friends I'm not going to miss one. The list keeps getting shorter the longer I manage to stay on the sunny side the sod. :(

As much as tRump's delusions are laughable it's beginning to feel like laughing at your dementia suffering weird uncle instead of feeling compassion for how he must be suffering.

On the other hand if derision is the only thing that keeps him from driving a bus load of your family and friends off a cliff we gotta do what we gotta do to prevent that.

Someday I'll have to hand over the car keys and I sure hope I'm aware enough to do that without a fight.

I guess most of my buddies down South are more republicans than actual Trump supporters (kind of the same IMO) but I do send one lots of memes and he still talks to me lol.

Ive known too many assholes in life to not be used to having to overlook some shit. I don't see this as being much different.

People are brainwashed into being assholes right now, so it gets really hard to know what it is that they even think they are saying. It is only going to be a lot of self evaluation and talking shit through with friends who can stand them (and are under the same attack as they are) to understand what it is that they are missing. It is hard though because they are also programmed to talk like they are on hate radio or doing a propaganda clip. You have to ride out their commercial break lulls I think is the trick (lol I am full of shit here, but a couple minute talk is not going to wake a lot of these folks up to the programming).

But the times that they know what it is that they are saying and don't care, that is when they need a reality check of it being ignorant. And to go eat a snickers bar.

Wow … i just grabbed this off of Truth Social.

Great Job , orange imbecile. What a way to guarantee young voters / women and fans not to vote for you.

Man I started out laughing and was looking for a good gif to laugh at it with. But then I thought about all those poor kids who use her music as an escape and have nothing to do with politics at all being put through this shit when parents politicize her fans as against Trump's cult.
