Who is to know what is what on the market, anymore? Anyone can chuck pollen and grow frosty buds and then call it whatever they want. I ran into this problem with Hazeman's Chocolate Thai F5. Since I am old and know what Thai weed should be, I can tell you that Hazeman's "claim" is not correct. But it's advertised as such. I could bag some of it up and tell you it was Green Crack and, unless you actually had experience with the ORIGINAL Green Crack, then how would you know the difference?
Not only that, but what about the way that any of these named-strains have been grown? There's no two growers that will ever get the same results from the same strain. In fact, I forget the guy's name, but he had a YouTube channel where he went around to several dispensaries and bought Blue Dream from each place and then took them back to compare all of them. Turns out, they were ALL different with different qualities. How is that possible if they are, in fact, the same? There shouldn't be that much discrepancy, but there is. It's suspicious. That's all I'm saying.
Finally, the idea that each strain, currently out there, has a recognizably-unique quality that stands out from any number of other strains, is kinda naive. The complexity of the hybrids out there, now, is SO deep, it's more likely that you'd have to just settle for a general description such as "fruity" or "piney" or "gassy", etc., as far as categorization goes. And any number of strains have those profiles, now. There are 50 strains that taste like GG#4. There are 50 strains that taste like Blue Dream.....Girls Scout Cookies....and so on. Pretty soon, if things keep going the way they are going, ALL weed will have a generic taste.
If you liked the "piney-ness" of the version of Green Crack that you had, then my advice would be to just look for strains that are described as tasting piney -regardless of the name.
It was piney and citrus'y I remember, maybe like astringent to a degree, but immediate brighten your day euphoria, miss the particular pheno I experienced
