Lantern fly nymphs

Well I broke out the Neem oil, I am seeing hundreds of them. Last year there were newspaper stories and clips on network news this year nothing.
I am seeing more on my cannabis plants then my grape vines. Maybe NYS has started a program to target home growers with lantern flies. Do we have a conspiracy theory thread?

I bought a backpack sprayer. Loaded it with concentrated neem oil and Dawn with 2 gallons of water. I sprayed my plants and when I went back to first plant there were none on it. Seems to be an effective method of control.

Im seeing them too. Hit them with neem 3 days ago and there back big time. Not sure what to do , I was thinking of trying a hot pepper spray. Has anyone figured out how to get rid of them?

I got six yesterday by hand. They are getting big compared to when I saw them in the spring. Another thank you to my Asian friends along with the carp
and snakehead river gifts. Oh and for taking all the female blue claw crabs from the bay. I'm not sure of the damage they're doing? The perimeter of the leaves have a yellow ragged edge on them that I've never seen before. Anybody?

Haha you only said blue claws, you forgot anything that swims goes into the pot. I was on a party boat in Montauk this June. They kept everything! Off season seabass, we were catching 5 pounders and released every one. They buried every one in the cooler. Its a fucking shame how disrespectful they are to the USA.

Poor management has left their seas void of everything but jelly fish. Don't get me started : )

Fuck it I sprayed 2 plants with spinosad capt jacks dead bug brew tonight. Ill report back on the results. They definitely didn't like it, when it hit them they all ran to the top of the plants and jumped off. This is bullshit it gets harder and harder to grow outside.

Not completely true.
We have sharks off of south shore of Long Island they are there because water is clean and baitfish are abundant.
They are having same problem in Cape Cod, cleaned the water, stripers came back brought the seals and the sharks followed to eat seal and fish.

Damn that's where I see them.
I have a lot of damage. The freakshows are beat to hell.
Oh well farming is an adventure.
I did see and article in Newsday yesterday paper that the winery in the east end north fork are all freaked out over them.
First article I have seen this year.
If I didn't have a medical condition I would have done a better job. I would have vacuumed daily. Now I can't pick the vacuum up it weighs more than 7 lbs.

It seems my farm workers are starting to take them out.
Upon a garden visit there were several lantern fly wings about the garden. Praying Mantis don't eat the wings where Catbirds swallow the whole thing.
But there were less on my plants so that makes me happy.
