scrog for bigger plants?

I am finishing up my 10x10 room for 12 plants. Starting with 4kw of hps. Using 5 gallon ebb n flow setup. Co2 and was wondering if i should setup a scrog net and lollipop or just tie the nodes downward so the light can get to the inner nodes and let them grow on there own?

Height will be 10ft also so i will switch to 12/12 when theyre about 3ft tall or about 2 months into veg.

I have always tied but with more plants I am seeing the wisdom in SCROG. Especially in low height or small square footage floors.

I have started to look at scrog. There is an other matchbox that has a journal you can look at. It is looking like a good way to get the most out of your grow.

Scrog is great but (no offense) you don't understand it yet if you say you want to flip the plants at 3 ft to end at 10. When you use a screen to tue the plant down to, vertical growth pretty much stops since you keep folding it over, that's the point of using a scrog. I have done it an think its a great tek to increase your yield, give support to the plant, and halt vertical growth.

I dont want them 10ft. I have 10ft of heights total is what i was saying. So 3ft of height at the screen and they prob have colas around 4ft mark or so cause havin 1kw lights would need space from the plants. Im asking opinions for people who have had some space to let them grow taller for bigger harvest.

Ah I see we'll I guess I just misunderstood but I don't think I was harsh an was just explaining. I do a 10x12 room so I've done large, and I also have a 16 ft tall shed for none scrogging. I don't really know what your wanting to know, beyond scrogging helps a shitton for the various reasons listed. More broken down into digestible information: big containers and less plants do a scrog, if plants are crammed together (pots touching) I don't think screens as as useful as a shitton of bamboo. A scrog plant can fill 3x3 really quickly. And if you have less space then a spread out plant will fill don't screen, other times screen :)

If you do a SCROG @ this point. You need to get those plants under the screen and the growth spread out under the screen. You will have to delay your flip for a couple weeks as you fill in the canopy till about 70% filled. Then your ready to flip.

Good Luck

My fault, didnt mean to come off rude as i apreciate all the help from everyone. So yeild wise i am better off doing a nice scrog? Plants should have decent space between pots. Keeping it 12 pots in the 10x10, ballasts and resivior will be outside room. So just the plants themselfs be inside the room.... still deciding to do cooled lights of to use adjust-a-wings for reflectors.

Ac will be a nice industrial central air unit and currently cools by 1600sqft to any temp i want so should do a 10x10 easy and another 10x10 later so i can harvest every month.

I plan to let them grow about 7 or 8 nodes up then top it, then let it grow 4 weeks and begin to tie down the codes so inner growth can go upward and throw them into the flower room and put screen up. Should have plenty of tops few inches above screen before doing 12/12. Thats my plan anyways, we see how that changes. Its pineapple express strand.

Last question, does it matter if i veg them in the flower room under the hps orange/reg light for week or they cannot use that light and only veg under the t5 lighting.

I think your on track to win, an ya nearly essential to veg in flower area (IMO) for the plant to settle into its new spot and recover from any random stresses it may have and to get ready to flower. Of course ya can get away with about anything with this plant

are you mono cropping? with 5x5 x four trays how are you going to work on them? Are you using rolling trays? You could do four 4x4 on rollers and do a staggered or perpetual with room to move the trays while you are working on them. You can anticipate adding 2-4 weeks veg time with scrog so you have to account for this is cost of running. I have run Macv2 from time to time and it took me two runs to figure out how to manage its slow growth and difficult training, but its worth it(this is no means a plug for mac but its illustrates a temperamental strain that when grown properly is worth it). It is also a good method for sativa leaning plants because one those long buds start spreading out and growing up each one is an individual cola instead of one long bud clinging to the stem(not a problem if you have 10 foot ceilings). Good luck

Yes sir! Scrog is "God" in your grows! You can totally lay down all taller growth and the newer growth from the lower branches! Your bud sites would look like big donkey dcks! You can of course lollipop the growth around the lower part of stem . I also would do supercropping on the newer ones that have caught up with the taller growth .

It's been a while since I used my net for anything other than support.

I've tried continually tucking and weaving through veg but nah it's too labour intensive.

I vegged without a net for 4wks ± from seed.

Then spread them out and put the net over.
12 the Sep.

19th Sep two weeks flipped.

That's basically it with an additional net for support if it's needed.
