Grower: 1%.
It's that crucial.
My buddy finished a grow lately with mold on some of the buds, over watering to the teeth, hermie and seeds all over the place
Some of the best shit I smoked in a while...
That shit came from a bagseed.
So even if you fuck up, when you got the perfect seed, it's very hard to fail in the final result department, which is the smoke.

This means you have to take clones of all 150 plants right? Just take one clone each so you have a backup in veg state of all 150, then you dry/cure the 150 originals, then you smoke 150 bowls to find out which of the bud you like the best. LOL that sounds crazy. Also you can't just have like 1 tent, you need like a grow room for this. OMG.

That's what so fucked up in the industry today, 10 years ago almost every seed I grew was fire in his own right, every seed was a almost perfect like mother clone, which is what you paid and expected for.
When I bought some cheese seeds in Ams 20 years ago they were identical and smoked the same as the cheese I smoked in the streets there at the time
Today it's a shit show, we are supposed to do the breeders work and pay them top dollar for it.
Shit is hilarious...
My bagseed from some outdoor bud beats so far everything I put in the dirt from those so called breeders haha

So basically we are all just growing some mutts. I have a limited experience in growing. But I have huge experience in reading about growing on the internet. Because that's all I've been doing the last 7 months of my free time.
What I gather is this. If you Google the most reputable seed bank whether here in the US or overseas and they claim to sell some great seeds of plants like classic OG shit like Northern Lights, Super Silver Haze, Acapulco Gold, White Widow, etc etc you will basically be growing garbage.
This is the undeniable reality given various circumstances :
1) If people can just grow their own great weed, why would there be a legal cannabis market?
2) It's likely true that the DEA/Feds really destroyed all of the good clones of all the good indoor weed back in 2007 or whatever year it was right before legalization started passing legislation in various states.
3) Let's say somehow you are able to grow some fire ass weed that reminds you exactly of the year 1995 that year you were neck deep in Super Skunk, Piff, and Vermont Kush. You just hit the lottery son. You truly got that 1 out of 150 pheno in your 6 plant grow somehow and you are not going to replicate this feat ever again. Not from this seller anyways because they already started back-diluting their strain and it's just going to be another mongrol/mutt cannabis plant like the rest of them with a weak/mids at best high.
4) The true pawns in the seed game is us growers. It's us people that spend thousand and thousands of dollars off a fucking picture that is likely not the original picture or nowhere near close the original plant they are purporting to sell. In the mean time, we spend 4 months of our lives getting all excited about our grows that will 98% of the time end up being mids at best. Not even nowhere close to what they are purporting to sell.
5) Anyone who is a novice smoker or a part time smoker who smokes on occasion can grow weed and get high. Just as much they can also go to any dispensary and buy a 20 dollar eighth and get just as high. Now try that with an all day smoker. Can you say not happening.
These are the facts as I've come to see them from my experience journeying through the halls of internet grow forums, columns, articles, user reviews, journals.

Heres my take. Theres a ton of good genetics out there. Just about every grow I've had since I started back growing was way above average. Some better than others and some were fire and a couple not the greatest but at the very least good. The old famous weed names are mostly just that now. Names. But if you do just a little research theres a lot of good bud seeds out there. They are pretty easy to find. Even white label seeds can be good. Enjoy them all while you look for a unicorn.

See and it's always these guys who say there is some fire seeds somewhere that get other guys interested and going down rabbit holes, spending money. I guess it's just a journey. There are therapeutic experiences to have in growing for sure. I mean, I enjoy growing and love looking at them plants. But at the end of the day I grow to smoke. I guess some people like to do it because of the social aspects of it like this forum, commiserating with other growers, admiring the flowers, the entire process. I just want to get stoned AF.

You gotta know where the fire is....before you grow it.
I know anything with triangle kush in it...is going to slap pretty hard.
But there are more than just Triangle Kush.
I know that anything with cookies in it will be a low leaf to bud ratio & will show off nice bud stacking
However, it's going to smoke like high quality mids.
It's a lite strain...
I want to try chem '91...to see how it compares to Triangle.
Bottom line I need to feel like I got slapped with a 2x4 on potency.

I just had Chem. Alright no need to talk bad but you're not going to get slapped with anything hard. Maybe a pillow.
When I grow fire for myself I will take back what I said. But I don't believe there is good weed out there anymore. It's all been destroyed. The good clones are gone. Probably locked up in a vault with the Feds. Maybe Jorge Cervantes has some fire or Sam the Skunkman. I haven't smoked kind bud since 2003.

Heavy disagree. If that were the case people too would be more imposed on genetically. Sure, you can draw bad genetics in a lotto. But at this point in time the worse you will really get is mids. Just look at all the bean sellers. The high end stuff is way over inflated because the market is saturated with middy genetics. You can pull out amazing stock from them. But they haven't been bred down lines like the high end stuff. As with people, almost all of us have a high potential we never realize because it requires a ton of work. Some of us are gifted in that, certain pursuits are more easily attainable. I'm thinking of lifting weights specifically. Almost every man COULD bench 315 if they dedicated the time and effort. There are a select few who will bench press 225 their first time in the gym at 18 because they are genetically superior. The same is true with plants. One is going to require you to treat it special and give it more attention. Its why the market is inflated on the high end.

I got my "fire" genetics first from Mephisto as I kept reading about it being a reputable seedbank. Also tried Greenhouse Seeds and Barney's Farm.
Current grow of the fire is from Piffcoast Farms, Katsu, and Delicious Seeds. Going to see what the fire is all about.

So, translate to seeds, you can grow the baddest plant and make it a Christmas tree the world has never seen, and you can hug and kiss it on lonely nights, but if it wasn't born to be fire, it will never be.
