That guy looks like a true Delta Dog. Minus the clean shirt and hat of course.Stripers are hitting in Grizzly Island sloughs. Not me, my buddy. I’ll be going out with him soon.

We’ve been fishing the delta since the late ‘70’s, so yeah he’s definitely a Delta Dog. I can’t believe how the conditions have changed over the years. We used to only need about 3 or 4oz weights when bank fishing now people are using 16oz plus. At least there are still some nice stripers and sturgeon coming though. Can’t wait to get out. That guy looks like a true Delta Dog. Minus the clean shirt and hat of course.
I didn’t start fishing the delta until the early 2000’s. Even back then if you were bankin it you better have some 16’s in the box. Most my spots needed 6-8oz if on the pick. They’re releasing quite allot of water from the dams so that prob doesn’t help much right now. We’ve been fishing the delta since the late ‘70’s, so yeah he’s definitely a Delta Dog. Btw, nice to see a real striper posted on here lol. Lots of pics of shaker stripers on here that def don’t represent. But I gotta say, once you fish in the spring up on the sac, like around Colusa and above(non-prop water) you don’t realize how many of those hogs still cruise up through the deltaWe’ve been fishing the delta since the late ‘70’s, so yeah he’s definitely a Delta Dog. I remember going through the mitten crab infestation and later the bottom water plant infestation, it’s like one gut punch after another, lol". For a while now lately I’ve haven’t been able to do any fishing at all (Used to hit Berryessa and Putah a lot) but I started noticing quite a few big healthy stripers being caught throughout the delta and Sac area so I’m beginning to gear up again.Btw, nice to see a real striper posted on here lol. I’m up near Lake Oroville nowadays but haven’t been fishing much at all ever since loosing everything to the Campfire and the very busy life since. I should be out trolling for kings in Lake Oroville any day i want to this summer but nope just isn’t in the cards yet I guess. Both my boats made it through the fire but took a lot of damage. You mentioned the Colusa area, I used to work that district when I was a sales rep and heard lots of great stories about how amazing the Lake Oroville fishing was. I never got around to fishing it, wondering if it’s still producing good catches.
