Necking / scraping the stem before harvest

I remember reading about putting nails or something through the stem some days before harvesting
to induce more resin production just before harvesting.
So is anyone done something similar with their stems before harvesting?

Just thought about pines and how their bark is peeled off either all the way or just leaving a strip of intact bark
to induce more resin/tar production.

So something like that, please share experiences, thank you

The only thing that really works is to use ice water to drench the roots 3 days before the full moon and harvest naked at midnight.

I can hardly believe a supposedly reputable seed merchant would even post such nonsense.

Stakes are for vampires- there are other “stress tricks “ like drought stress during flower -
Fortunately, cannabis growers can also use drought to their advantage to increase the secondary metabolite content, or cannabinoids and terpenes, of their crops.

UV is another way to bump the blooming flowers.

Yeah..
There is cannabinoids and there is terpenes, all of which work through gene switches / epigenetics.
But looks like this isn't the place for this.

I hit a flowering plant with a lawnmower and it turned in too a frosty beast
So I guess we all should hit our plants with the mower?

Interestingly works in hydro as well.
You just have to reduce the water level to 1/3

I have an 8 foot privet hedge. I use a long electric hedge trimmer to maintain it and it still feels like that at some moments. Love my hedge though. So private, the privet.

Lots of myths about cannabis -

Hanging upside down ( THC drips down to buds )
Harvesting during Full Moon
Adding fruit to soil ( flavors )
Adding “ sweetners “
Identifying male seeds from female ( facepalm )
“ Cannabis Specific “ nutrients
Darkness before harvest
Mr. Canuck
Reddit / YouTube guys

OP - just grow it out / do general maintenance / harvest / dry it …. smoke it.

No silver stakes - No Cartoon bottles - No Brawndo

* Pee ( yes )

There is evidence to show that droughting, correctly timed, does increase yield and resin production as does the addition of UV light also correctly timed.

I think it was an old Super Sativa Seed Club catalog from the 80s, or one of the new companies to sell seeds then.

They had a take, on what some in India do, to allegedly increase potency.

The would split the stalk, and put a Cobra Head, in the stalk.

The problem with this theory is that Cannabis doesn't produce THC as a defensive mechanism, like a pine tree produces sap, a stressed pot plant produces less THC.

Yeah, I understand that the cannabinoids take awhile to produce and mature.
Which is why giving stress like UV all the way can increase the THC. Or droughted like been mentioned in the thread.
But what about terpenes as a defense mechanism for trying to deter pests?
