Everyone moving to the side to let emergency vehicles through is a good idea. I've only seen that done in Europe.

We used to do it here. Once upon a time, a very long time ago our ambulances, counting on social agreement would whiz through lights at 80 MPH. I had to do some ride alongs for some ICEMA requirements and they were doing their best to rattle the ride along (I hope). I never asked and pretended not to notice.

Driving here is sometimes like a mad max movie. 401 highway that runs through TO is patrolled by the provincial police instead of city police. Whenever there's an accident they just block the highway with firetrucks. Cops just sit around and watch no guiding or helping traffic around a major accident.

I have been known to resemble Mad Max while driving that roadway. I don't drive with the shoulder spikes anymore as they tended to ruin the interior.
Them folks in the westbound lanes ( left side ... ) heading to Mississauga ain't going anywhere quickly.

Quick story for you when I was repoing my Navigator was the wife we were up in Lake of the Woods Minnesota and somehow we ended up in Canada was no Road like that didn't know a thing until I couldn't read the damn road signs anymore they were all in French lol

We could learn a thing or two from the US DOT. Driving the interstate is a dream lol. Here there's no warning for anything. Construction, road or land closer. Figure it out fuckers. And they wonder why it's chaos and constant road rage.

If the cops would help direct traffic it would flow much better. Nobody knows what a zipper merge is and letting people in front seems to be a great insult to some.
