No imho...but there are many opinions on it.
True but every thread ends the same way sadly lol its best to just not even mention it cos it seems folks on here dont wanna discuss it rather than dismiss it or throw up that one study done by a nutrient company or say its for toilets what i say to people who are still unsure is flush half the amount of the plants you got and dont flush the other half of your plants and dry and cure em good and then try em separately and see what you prefer more cos at the end of the day it is you who is smoking it

I'll wait until amber appears
You are getting really close to a harvest window but it takes a look at the whole plant to tell how close...I personally lower my nutes but continue until harvest. That decision is up to you.
When checking trichs make sure your looking at the calyx and not the sugar leaves and consider the whole plant to determine when to harvest. You want at least all cloudy but I prefer minimum 20% amber to know she's giving me all she can. :bigjoint:

All the study concluded was that the effects of flushing vs not flushing was minimal, with the non flushed plants being favored in the blind test.

Most people come asking several weeks from their plants being finished if they should flush or not, ignoring the search function entirely. I'm not endorsing bullying, but I think it's a pretty good inside joke when it's not framed as an attack.

I just wish there were more independent studys on the subject around its definitely a area of research with cannabis that is lacking for sure

Do you know the plant's age/days from sprout? I have grown quite a few autos and found that all took a minimum of 80 days from sprout to finish with a few going around 95. If you know the sprout date, then as you approach day 80 from that date, start watching for the same signs that they are ready that you would see with photos - majority of pistils are orange to brown and receded into to plump calyxes. Often by this time I find that most fan leaves are yellow or beginning to yellow.

My first grow was finished using Fox Farms. I used probably half dosage entire time. In the last 3 weeks I only fed water. The buds I harvested were not good buds because they were autoflowers. However, there was minimal chemical taste to them. Like none. I liked this very much and the smoke was smooth. It just didn't get me high. For my next grow I will be flushing for 2 weeks. At least 2 or 3 final waterings with just water or water and molasses.

The company doing the test sells fertilizer. I use 5 gallon pots indoors with coco/perlite, no runoff, once daily feed and for the last week I will give plain water, especially due to the fact I never flush or have runoff. There is no theory behind my method, it's basically a "Ahh okay these are on day 68 ill give them plain water for a few days, let them dry out for a few days then chop and hang them".

I don't see a benefit of saturating root balls with fertilizer that are going to be dumped in a compost pile. I prefer the plant use up whatever possible and use the least amount of inputs possible.

Cant trust tests that are paid for by companies that are trying to sell you fertilizer. Large corporate grows that aren't using Yara and possibly use this brand would be inclined to spend an extra few hundred or possibly couple thousand dollars per week on fertilizer depending on the facility. Not just weed grows either.

That's an ad hominem critique of a study that is totally available to read. If we aren't going to trust science funded by industry interested in the results, then most of what we know to be true goes out the window.

The means and methods of the test are okay, I would have liked a much larger control group, but the end result is a minor difference in the two final products that lines up pretty well with nature.

You do you, doesn't bother me one bit.

Flushing is unnecessary in my opinion. I've grown no till. You can't, and shouldn't flush, if you want the soil to be ready for the next cycle. Never a problem with flavor, or burn.

If you've been overfeeding, then by all means, flush residual salts out, but at the end of flower, just reduce nutrient input.

Your plants though. You can "flush" as much plain water through as you want.
