How do you Americans feel about having to download the "Peacock" app to watch the Miami @ KC game this afternoon?

The app is only available within the USA, all others would need to use a VPN to download it.

In Canada it is being broadcasted as a normal game on TSN (The Sports Network).

I was just going to post that,I'm so fkn pissed off this shit is all about money used to watch two on Saturday two on Sunday both regular cable. Also I downloaded the peacock app but you have to pay for a subscription to it to be able to watch the game. Same BS with Thursday night Amazon Rights.

Pretty unhappy about it. I'm putting the blame more on NBC then the NFL

That's what I assumed, there would be a subscription fee to watch it......I hope this does not become the future trend for sports.

Why?....would it have not been the NFL to make the deal with Peacock....or does NBC own Peacock?
Yeah, NBC owns peacock. NBC is perfectly capable of making the game available on their broadcast but are actively choosing to only air it in "select local markets"Screenshot_20240113_113703_Google.jpg often you can get a "free trial" but I'm sure there are later round games you'll want to wait and save that for

Oh no Roger godell commissioner sold it for money and Thursday to Jeff bezos for money.
Again I'm not putting this on Godell this is a NBC move. Yes it is about money but I think they could have made a lot more off endorsements then targeting the consumer for new subscribers, how many NFL fans are going to start a subscription just to cancel after the playoff

Weird. Never any issues for me with NFLBite. You running Adblock?
I hit that link then hit the game I want to watch even though it's not on yet and directly sends me to some McAfee thing saying scanning for viruses then to buy. Or if I hit the dolphins game sends me to something for a subscription. I'll have to see what happens when live. What do you do just hit that link and start watching games. It said I needed to sign up for free then went to subscription page.

No need to sign up for anything, they're all free. I run basic AVG Free and use Firefox with Adblock+ for all my browsing. I just click on whatever game I want to watch and a bunch of different links will appear shortly before the games start, usually 20-30 minutes prior. Sometimes there may be some popups before actually getting to watch the specific game, but I've never run into anything nefarious that set AVG off.

No app necessary.

Thanks man. That's awesome. It's working for the Browns Texans game now. I'll try it on the KC game later. I'm a happy camper. That shit has been pissing me off since Amazon hijacked TNF.

I stumbled across that site 2-3 years ago when it had a different name. Now I can watch every Bears game, instead of the 2 I'd usually get to see during the season. Had basically zero issues with using it.
