I have only seen exerts of the Torah. That's another interesting one. At this point I'm more interested in the Hebrew bible than the KJV or any of the others. If I understand right the Torah is the Hebrew bible.

I've always been interested but now especially after reading "Gods of the Bible" by Mauro Biglino. According to a direct translation there is more than one god. Hebrew in very difficult to read but I can recognize maybe a half dozen.

You would have to be more stone than flesh to not choke on that one. My experience wasn't that bad, but try explaining circumcision to a 9 yo boy's class. Time to call the preacher in.

bro ezekiel 23 starts by saying there were two daughters of one mother, its an allegory. Its about Oholah (Sumaria) and Oholibah (Israel) with the emphasis on the relationship that Israel had to its neighboring nations (see verse 4) goes onto say about Samaria in verse 10 They uncovered her nakedness. Took away her sons and daughters, means that Samaria was captured by the Assirians in 722 B.C.

Then in chapter 11, it talks about Israel how she lusted after the neighboring Assyrians, which means she entered into a political alliance with them.

not saying that some translations dont say that just that there is no mention of genitals in my bible NKJV at 23. 20 just says...

23.20 For she (Israel) lusted for her paramours. (Means someone you having an improper relationship with)
And whos issue is like the issue of horses

by "flesh" is meant the "membrum virile", which in asses is very large, and therefore dedicated to Priapus by the Heathens; and vast is the profusion of seed in coitus by horses, to which the flesh and issue of the Egyptian paramours are compared; who were very libidinous, and therefore desirable to insatiable women; all which serves to express the eagerness of the people of the Jews after idolatry.

In the bible, god himself acknowledges that there are other gods when he says have no other gods before me. It's early but I can remember the names baal, asherah and molech as being deities. There is mention of others but I'd have to look them up.

I knew I'd be on my own around here when i started on this thread, even though, i'll be as helpful as i can, on this subject

This is EXACTLY how people should talk about the Bible. Not just quote verses. Explanations like this are really worth reading and that's the way things should be presented, with substance. Good work.

in 1958 I questioned Dean O. T.Brown, of California Baptist College (now University) about this exact same thing, including some of names. His answer was, "Just believe it".

This is one of things I was talking about before. If it's in the earliest writings it should be in the Bible now. You don't take things out or, change them, just they because are hard to say or whatever, even if it sounds a little "gross".
