Setting up dtw coco 2.5x5 tent

So 6 weeks but took about a week longer to switch due to maturity. I will check with yall in week 10-12 depending what I personally think. I will point out the first window and then the traditional window, then when yall think.

Because I want to calibrate my views on ripe with the more seasoned growers incase I have this all wrong.

But my clones as suspected did take off when I thought. But I am not happy with the rosin results and yield overall. I doubt I would of yielded a whole lot more other than more subpar weed vs prime exposed areas. More leg larf too.

The rosin yields 7% so far and tastes bad. Potency is there. I guess I am harder to please due to my strict needs and have a lot of work to do. Looking for new strains already.

Bad taste rosin I could live with if it at least yielded 15%. Maybe higher temps pressing can help like it did last time I had that issue. The watermelon ultra even if I let it go 14 weeks is not looking like a yielder. Small buds and shallow.

Thats why I want to do 8 plants in half gal, I can start hunting further. About to do that and pop beans. Perpetuate each side of flower tent so I dont get pressured to chop early again. Keep plants small but hopefully they dont grow too big.

Yield I guess will be improved when I find my strains. Must yield 15% rosin or more or now this is just fustrating. Lots of work to do.

Edit there is a upside to this. Despite some believing this could of yielded much more with more weeks, I got to find out this much sooner that I dont evem like this strain. Dont judge it till its in your lungs! Haha.

The more developed nugs are drying out to be awesome. I shluld wait till I press/smoke those before judging. Theyre de nugged. Much more frosty and aromatic. I only sampled the larf.

Makes me think though, one here said they get 12oz a plant in a 2x4. What are they doing to get that yield with two plants just like mine? Genetics?

I know chopping them at 6 weeks wont do it but come onn I am a newbie and things just werent going as planned.

I will say this plant said to be medium yield or just not particularly high yielder but dang.

Yield can have a lot to do with genetics. It also can have a lot to do with the pruning and training done to the plants.

I transplanted to half gal floraflex with cap but it works poorly. Whats the best cap youd use? These warp when in place and just dont do as intended.

I bought the rigid caps. They work great. What exactly are the 1 time use caps doing that is not what they are intended for? If it is just warping, maybe you need more media in the container so it can sit down firmly on it? I haven't used them so I'm not sure.

They arent distributing water, just a couple spots where the water comes out and then one spot towards the end.

So its just draining on one side mostly. Its flimsy and warps in the middle going upwards. But if you push it down it sandwiches too much and now bows inward.

Ah, I assume that is the major downside of the 1 time use caps. I highly recommend the heavier duty caps as do several others on here. You may try using the cap in a larger pot so it can just sit flat instead of being scrunched into the pot they are in now.

I tried letting it rest instead but same thing its very poor, only like few spots dripping water. What I dont like about it also is I cannot see whats going on but of course it will work better as I check it, making the water fall out the other side from lifting it.

It just blows, I thought it would be easier to setup but now I realize, the others are the same you just add a clip.

One thing about switching to these is I wonder if the plastic would lack side branching in the pot to rootbound better or is it ok? I see root balls from both and wonder if one is better.

Just got the caps and some more 4” pots for bonsai mothers. Thinking all of them should be 4” pots.

Do yall really think I can have 8 half gal flora pots in the 2.5x5? I guess rather seed or clone would matter due to veg time. I could run seeds in 4” pots to keep them small but the thing about hydro is it just makes the plant function better.

You need to look up the 12/12 from seed thread. You can grow awesome plants with no extra veg time. Seeds will naturally veg for a few weeks before they reach maturity and that is plenty to get an awesome plant.

clones is definitely the way to go once you have some genetics worth saving.

vegging to long will make the plants big and can make them bushy and unruly like that last plant you cut at 6 weeks. The only point of vegging is if you need big plants. Otherwise just add more plants with less veg to get higher yields.

I just have colas falling over again but with this plant, harvesting them as they kink and fall upside down. Tied the others to a more sturdy branch.

What net material would you suggest? I want to use nets again but dont want fine hairs in them. What do you use or would use for 8 plants in this tent?

I thought nylon but not seeing many results they tend to be a woven material.

I’ve used a variety of things from metal fencing with square wholes in it, to string I tied into a grid and attached to a wooden frame. I’ve also used typical plastic horticultural trellis netting. I’ve never had fibers transfer from any of the netting, but I didn’t use anything fuzzy for sure.

some people hang strings from the ceiling to support the branches. For years I just used bamboo stakes that I supported the branches with. Getting the buds supported is REALLY important because the closer to harvest you get the heavier they get. If you can’t support them you will never reach their full potential.

8 and half weeks, just curious how much longer yall think it will take. Took a week or two to start the flip due to maturity. Im thinking under 30 days but could be too soon to say. Turning it to rosin if that matters.

Some more. Due to the empty space its getting side lighting from other light so the larf will weigh nicely when done. Will be fully developed.

edit I didnt realize I posted it two weeks ago only but just looking at them I thought maybe can ask if under or over 30 days. Though in couple more weeks should be at week 9 or 10. The late switch throws me off.

For my veg tent 8 port manifold, say I get a stronger pump like 1200gph or whatever that vivosun was.. Can I take two ports or 4 and use Tees to feed 12 plants? Maybe the 4” pots can make due with one tube clipped on vs 2.

Basically can I double up some of these lines to feed any amount of extra plants aside from 8 or do I need another manifold.. Or try until I cant add anymore lines.

Can I use a Tee to split the half inch main line tubing to flow into a 4 port manifold to split into 2 clipped feed lines so each 4” floraflex pot has a drip on each side or can it get away with one?

I use 4 8 port manifolds for 12 plants, capping off 2 ports on each manifold so I get 2 lines per 8 inch pot as recommended. Do they also call for 2 lines per 4 inch pot? Then I'd do that.

Edit: one of those pumps is plenty.
