When I was a kid I knew where all pay phones were had buddies call card memorized didn't have to pay the dime. Then started going up to quarter. Only cell phone was a brick that stayed in a car. Good old days of pager

Light rain this morning but thankfully no wind yet. Might get some T storms this afternoon.
Football teams in this house ended up 1-2, mine was the only team that won. I napped through the end of the KC game.

It's like a slot machine, except the payoff is a phone call. Put the token ($) in the slot.

I used to leave my reading glasses haphazardly over the house and become too lazy to go and get them. So now I keep one pair on every floor

I've gone full circle and I wear my glasses around my neck on a string. Best thing I ever did. Was losing them constantly. Don't see how we couldn't do the same with weed.....

I saw the payphones being removed from service and scrapped.
Phone company busted them apart to shake very last dime out of them , sent the scrap to Jamaica.

I remember when long distance was a thing. I ran up a 600 dollar phone bill talking to my girlfriend. My parents were NOT happy.

You'd need a landline - and a dial added to it to call anyone but it'd work for incoming calls. Operators placed all the calls prior to phones having dials.
I worked a couple years with electromechanical telephone switching equipment prior to it going digital.

Yea forgot about that detail about operator calling would ruin piece as is.

While on training downtown Toronto, I stayed at the Delta Chelsea - where I reprogrammed every button on the Vista 200 in the room to dial my boss's home. Upon my return, I laughed when he told stories about people calling him for room service, etc.
