Hey im glad i found this site today! This is my first grow. My investment in tents lights ebb$flow, chem etc is $1700+ so i wanna make this work. My last exboyfriend gave me some weed with angle dust in it. Since then i no longer buying from the streets! I have a little girl to take care of.

Anyway im 7weeks into flowering and my 14 plants looks streesed! Temp is 75-85 rh is 30-50% im using a 400hps, 1 t5 and 4 pole light on the inside of my 4x4x8 tent. Fox farms nutes at 3/4 strength. I flush every 2 week. And have been flushing for 6 days now with ro water and carboblast.

Some of my bud looks small. Im know the solution is going above my rockwool and maybe thats the problem? Or not enough lights for 14 plants? I dont know. Please help a first timer. all norhternlight seeds from nirvana

Looks to me like some of your plants aren't getting enough light. 14 plants is too much for your light set up. I have a 400 watt HPS and I have 8 females under it. The ones on the outside edges of the light area are barely getting enough light.

are you able to rotate the plants at all or are they set in your ebb and flow?
yes i rotate them when i do a resevior change every 2 weeks. im thinking about cutting the plant in half at harvest and letting the bottom half go another 7-10days to see if the bud grow any?

you could do that but you might stress the plant too much but i've heard of ppl chopping the top colas sooner than the rest of the plant. as for the lights you might want to rotate the plants more often or put the lights on movers. how close is the t5 to the plants? and when you say light poles are you refering to flourescents?

ok ill start moving the light daily. the t5 is hanging on the side of the tent about a foot away....yes flourescents pole lights.

Impressive for a first time grow and glad to hear you invested the money to do it right, honestly the reason for your low yield is probably that you need more light. a 400 watt hps in a 4/4 area is 25 watts per sq foot for flowering and the bare minimum is 20. the other lights probably dont bring it much higher id recommend you get what you can from this and next time around invest in a bigger light.

Other than that i cant see anything unhealthy about your plants and you seem to have your nutes worked out but you simply dont have the light for 14 plants. When setting up my system I decided on a 4x4 flood tray 6 inches deep with a 600 watt hps with enhanced blue spectrum and extra lumen output over 9 plants in my tray. my set up gives me 37.5 watts per sq ft and 6 thousand lumens per sq ft. If you are using a plain 400 hps nothing added your getting 50 thousand lumens from it so with propper reflection your plants are getting 3125 lumens per sq ft and with that many plants crammed into the tray the light probably isnt reaching some of the parts of the plants which happens when you have a thick canopy and low lumen/foot output as it is.

it looks like you veged them too long there huge, next round dont veg so long put them into flower when there smaller and youll be able 2 fit 14 with a 400, i build my roots first under a flor, then i put them into veg under 600s for no more than a 10 days most the time only 6 days, when i switch to 12-12 there little, when im done there only 3 feet all bud, big is not allways better, and your playn that pic aint you

So if 14 plants is too many for a 400 hps light and 1 t5 in a 4x4 area. What is the right amount of plant. Thinking about 7-8 plants next time????? And when should i stop using co2 im in week 8

It depends on how big you will let your plants get.
Thanks growspecialist. i just read your other post. next time ill veg for 3-4 weeks. i would like to grow the maximum i can grow so i can shut down for a while and not continually be growing........got some that have been vegging for 5 weeks now photo below. i think im gonna have the same problem, NOT ENOUGH LIGHT.

Hey Stacy, I'm so glad I found your post!!! I have almost the same grow going! I am in the same boat. First grow, hydrohut, 400w hps, etc. I also have small buds and thought it was probably the light. I had a 1000w on them and heat stressed them pretty bad so i switched to a 400 that a friend gave me. Then I heard that the reason the stronger light messed em up was cuz my ppm's weren't high enough and i wasn't feeding them enough to handle the 1000w light. But i had already nute burned em at the beginning of flower so i had lowered the ppm's. This has been a real learning experience! Anyway, my plants are healthy now but my buds are small. I'm at 6 weeks. So what i'm wondering is, do you recall what your ppm's were through the flowering stage? i think i'm too low, i'm at 900 (i've read all different stuff about ppm's and i'm confused)! Did you switch the nutes to flowering formula the last week of veg, not to shock em? And finally, did you try cutting the main colas and flowering the rest longer? If so, how did that go?

ps-good thing he's your ex, cause he does sound like a douche!!

Thanks so much!
Lilly

some people just go and harvest ripe buds while keeping the rest till they are ready...wash rinse repeat etc
