I left my calibration solution out in a solo cup and it would stay accurate for a week at least. The packs are pretty cheap though so I just bought a bunch and mix fresh whenever I need to calibrate.My PH meter came with 3 packets for calibration. It says to mix it into DI water which I can get locally.
After I mix it into 3 containers will the PH hold if I store the solution in a sealed for calibration later?

I didn't know I could get the packs. There wasn't anything in the instructions of my PH meter on where I could get them from.

I have a Bluelab meter but when I saw this Apera pH calibration storage solution container I got it and I absolutely love it. It makes it so convenient to calibrate and store the solution!
I bought an Apera ph and ec pen a month ago and it came with a nice calibration and storage solution set, all in a little tray. I love the new ph pen, way quicker readings.
I've been looking at that Apera kit but I can't justify buying it until my Bluelab dies and so far it's still going strong LOL!! I got it in 2015 and haven't been particularly careful either

Good to know. Oh I know about the EPA strict standards. I had to follow them for 20+ years. I worked at a water bottling business until I retired. I did the repairs on the equipment. But I didn't calibrate the meters. The Boss did.so there is actually a shelf life on the solution and it will drift with time. the dry powder would have a very long shelf life but once you mix it, a clock starts from a technical standpoint. A clean DI “dip&shake” between moving the probe from 4 to 7 will help keep the standards as close as possible. a lab tech will only use a solution once for instance but a home grower is not following EPA protocol so meh…but it does go.
Does this fit the head of a standard bluelabs pH meter 'pen'? If so, I may have to spring for this. I hate using little cups for calibration, then throwing out the fluid I've used.
This is my Bluelab pen and it stands up perfectly in those cells to calibrate. I was happy to be able to stop throwing away solution and Dixie cups
That's fantastic. That's the same one I have. I don't lose calibration more than every month or more, but would be happy not to waste fluid and have a stable holder like that to stand up the meter in. Sold.
My blue lab pen is now 5 years old, I just ordered an apera ph60 for no good reason.....Your pen still going good for 9 years?
