Whats better?

First pic is no fan pointed at pots, second is an oscillating fan pointed below the canopy. Whats better for the long term? Roots look nice with no fan but the ones with fan are getting extra air which I believe is just air pruning the roots so unsure what way to run it. Any advice?

As the plants get taller I’d point the fan upward to push air through the canopy from below.

The wind hitting the roots below will only prevent them from coming through. If everything is clean I don’t see a need to stop the roots from growing. If I had the space in this situation I’d stack it on another pot for those roots to have a home.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the air pots.........they are specifically designed to air prune the roots.

On the sides, yes. They are not designed that way on the bottom. If the fan weren’t hitting the floor, that space below the pot would fill with roots. Never heard anyone complain about more healthy roots.

Never heard of anyone stacking air pots either.

It can’t be that uncommon. An older Canadian woman on Instagram does it with all her plants. @jojogrows1 on Instagram. She mainly grows autos, and they get pretty big. Tried it with a photo, and small pots. I was impressed with 6oz in 1/4 of a 4x4 being pretty new at it. Roots grew right through the bottom, so I just stacked it & let them continue. Pretty sure it played a significant role in yield.
