Are fohse led really the best?

Also important, for what space? Single light in a tent or a warehouse with 20 lights with cross lighting? Theres lights that work better in one situation or another.
Iirc there was some hype around fohse numbers, they yield nice and had high ppf efficiency but to my understanding it was for a ware house situation. Probably not something you can get in a tent with limited height.

Also depends on what are your goals and limiting factors: some want as much yield they can from their one tent, no matter money. Some want best quality, some might have the space but limited wattage, some just want a light which is really easy to grow with. Some just want to play around with separate channels for uv/far red/veg/flower, some want a all around light.

For a home grower DIY is always a nice option, you get a light thats adapted to your space and style, you can repair it yourself if something goes wrong and the immense satisfaction of knowing that my results are down to my own design and work.

Id say the HLG Diablo with samsung Evo -h diodes is one of the allaround better lights for the north american customer; its got the most of what you could ask for; spectrum, efficiency, spread (and suitability for both tent and opensoace) and after sales.

some Of these claims are such bs, I asked Fohse that on email “ u talking wet weight ? can you explain and show a example of a sea of green that does that?”

no response , hmmz
I mean, did your email to the corporate entity include such issues with the English language as your quotation?

1100 bucks for a 640 watt LED lmfao oh heck naw its like HLG charging 1300 bucks for a 700 watt led light its too much for me if the lights included a richer spectrum like a boat load of UV / ir / nir maybe i would save up money but all they really offer is 200 lumens per watt. so im paying you 1100 bucks for a light that emits 200 lumens per watt lol id rather spend way less money and get the exact same thing! you can buy cheap led lights with great diodes/drivers that emit 200 lumens per watt! just like this fohse thingy mabobit!

Beyond the actual output, etc., they DO look like extremely well-made fixtures....quality materials and all that. There are a lot of nice lights available now. Back in 2012, there weren't nearly as many options. At a certain point, a grower only needs so much light output, in a given space, before they have to back it off. You CAN have too much light in a tent!....trust me....heh.

IMHO one of the best LEDs, and not just because its a really reasonable price, is either one of the Mammoth Mint White Series leds.

The 880w Mammoth costs $800, has 2711PPF, uses Samsung EVO, High Efficiency 3000K, 5000K, 660nm, 730nm, and Emerald Green diodes. The Mammoths are extremely powerful, in the Green Spectrum, which penetrates very deeply, and are found to be a more important spectrum, than previously thought. Mammoth has the strongest Green spectrum, Ive seen.

The 8 Bar Mammoth has 3456 diodes, and uses Iventronics drivers. 5 Years warranty. IP65 wet rating.

The 680w Mammoth Mint White is 2100PPF, and uses the same diodes, 2592 Diodes, and Iventronic driver. Just less diodes, 6 bars, and not as powerful driver. IP65 Wet Rating.
The 680w Mammoth, costs $675usd, which for 2100PPF is as good as it gets, regardless of price.

Both Mammoths have a 3.1 efficiency, and also have additional UV, available. But is extra cost.

These sell as fast as they can make them. The next release will be in early December. Available for Preorder.
