Anyone try an Auto outdoors in early spring (Texas)

So plants have been outside permanently for about 4-5 days. They have definitely perked up but could be more green. I’m gonna blame it if FFOF, as I believe it was a little strong for the young ones.

anyway, cover has been coming off during the day and back on at night. We have been in the low 80s with nights in the low 60s. A couple nights ago the shifted temporarily to highs in the 60s, low in the 40s. Plants still look strong, but when temps drop more I will add a small heater to the greenhouse.

btw I purchased a Bluetooth temp/humidity monitor for the greenhouse. Just got it yesterday afternoon. Here is what the greenhouse has done some then.

I would highly recommend vegging them indoor get them big as possible before planting out, Theres not much day length in april.

For sure, when I do the autos in the spring I will. I went ahead and put these experimental plants outside since I was running out of room inside lol

The day warmed up very quickly. This reading is in full sun. Greenhouse plastic removed. Actual outdoor temp is 53°F

So I am building two scrog pots when needed. May have to lower the screen a bit more. Work in progress.

Was gonna order more FFOF, but there is a creek nearby on the property which has very rich soil around its banks. especially where the creek comes out its beds occasionally. So I grabbed my shovel and a couple 7 gallon fabric bags and started preparing.

I have used this “creek soil” for building raised beds and growing some veggies very successfully. Hoping it will do the same for cannabis

That’s the plan only I was going with white plastic. They will need to be covered at night

and definitely use the chicken wire to protect your plants on the ground... not sure where you are in TX, but the jackrabbits are pretty bold. they WILL munch your plants. deer will too. i don't have to worry about the deer here, but the rabbits are everywhere. nomnomnomnom

Got deer and rabbit here too, plants will be inside the cage.

Looks like your gonna need to pull your cover off a little earlier in the mornings. Might want to put it up a little later as well so less heat builds before it stops. Of course I say that and the weather will be totally different next week. That's the one downside of greenhouses and hot boxes, you need to be able to monitor them and respond to changing conditions in a timely manner.

Agree, until it actually gets colder and the cover can remain more consistent it does require attention. I take it off before work and put it back on by 3 or 4 pm

I have an older pic. since this was an experiment I took my worst two seedlings (white grapes and gorilla grape).

I need to get an updated pic as they have grown.
