Setting up dtw coco 2.5x5 tent

For 12 plants id need a flood tray or halos and drain away trays. It is something to consider for sure . I worry about one large reservoir for all plants needing one of them or more needing a different treatment. Part of reason for bean hunting.

I have hard time seeing ahead, will make more sense when I do some of what I planned. That is just a rough draft. Predictable perpetuating mother ran grow.

Agreed. Fill the canopy any way possible..... can even be like this..... 1 plant.....

Half way through the week, reservoir still clear. Ph is a lot more stable too. So thinking cloudy has something do with bacteria even though one said it isnt. I think so because when I tried hand watering I had a 5gal bucket with solution and hydrogaurd and it got funky within hours and was cloudy. Had a pump circulating water.

Then I went sterile with h2o2 and did good in 5 gal reservoir. Just too small. The large reservoir as shown, peroxide did not work unless I try adding alot which is expensive and the h2o2 breaks apart within days. The chlorine is the way to go so far. Guessing since its meant for pools to withstand alot of stuff.

6 node plant that I am starting to lst clip to spread out. Will prune and def to make sure it dont get too cluttered. I started to by the main stem for access and airflow. The h202 killed the mold that was growing and see roots starting to grow upward and grab the coco which later will help with water distribution and prevent algae and mold.

Getting rid of the other plants next week and setting up the other tent/reservoirs for 3 plants which idk how will run. Need improvement but maybe the loss of a plant will make 800gph enough so I can have one pump.

Next time must use better halos for smaller pots, 1/4” tubing was suggested will not kink, have more pressure from that as well as halos being smaller diameter. Edit I duct taped holes shut and made new anti siphon holes on inside of bend. It works for now.

Also been thinking about the 1 gal 12 plant suggestion, just need time for money for extra trays as I dont want to diy them. A flood tray would take a lot of space and I have no more for storage. But it is a good idea, I will keep thinking about it but seeds are costly. But I see how it would yield faster.

Get through a successful grow. Before you flip, cut clones. Grow a few clones out a bit, take more clones from them. Keep doing that until.you have 12 clones of a plant that you already know you like and you don't have to buy any more beans. Just put those 12 into your dialed in system and you can get same or better yield in less time.

if you lose 1 plant growing only 2, you lose a lot of product.
if you lose 1 plant growing 12, you barely notice

Yeah I forgot that, I am a reck thought wise. This setup just has dialing in after dialing in to do. I am interested in that though because yea, I have to take the time to fill in the tent, like 90 days probably.

you really could make that tent work for you with 12 plants. have 2 lights: one on one side with less watts for the younger 12/12 plants and then move them to other half of the tent wiht a bigger light to finish off 12/12. and just keep cycling plants thru

And still veg clones in the 2x4? I was thinking 6 plants per tent to stay in limit so room mates are comfortable with it. Would you use air layering for any of this to speed things up?

if so, then yes for the veg tent. as the ones get done in the 2x5, add the already vegged clones under the less light. you basically have a really nice perpetual setup i'd think.

and instead of 6 in each, i'd do 9 in the 2x5 and have 3 in the 2x4. as you pull out the plants ready to chop, add the clones.

I am also doing a very slow bean hunt to keep bonsai mothers for long term storage and variety so I am mostly getting predictable results to build on up till I cant no more and just work with runs more predictable in harvest time and etc. Trying new strains and eventually getting rid of some.

that would def help for a perpetual. if you know strain x goes 83 days and strain y goes 92 days, then you can plan your veg better

Prepared fertilizer wed at 5pm, today at 5pm will be 5 days old. Last two days not have to adjust ph, this morning before feed was 6.21ph. I forgot to adjust to find it was in range still. Is this correlated with bacteria? It is still clear, smells like a swimming pool. Since ridding the bacteria the ph barely swings. Note to self.

I got like 20 gallons left and wasted 5 gallons for whatever reason messing with the setup. I think testing the new anti siphon holes and some halo work real quick. That will probably last me now with one less plant, 3-4 more days. If solution holds up then I am good to go for now.

When ridding more plants it will hold up longer and will see how much longer it holds up and try adding more pool shock. I am going to setup the 2x4 in next week. That has to wait since appearently I need to return and reship a new one. Still thinking of how to make the 3 plants run better off one pump. Might re do halos.

Seeing if a 100gph pump can pump one plant with its kinked halo which would be one less problem if it works.

I used bennies (SouthernAg GFF) for a while and can confirm it always resulted in a consistent pH rise. Currently I run with a little Cal hypo (1-2ppm) and don't get any pH rise. I've never noticed a smell of chlorine at that level though. Recently I needed to use some BTi to combat fungus gnats. When added to the reservor, the pH would rise ~ 0.3 within a day requiring regular addition of pH down.

Why not simply fix the halo restriction?

If you are going to order all new stuff, check out just some purpose made halos or drippers for a couple bucks each. @Laughing Grass just got some slick halos. And floraflex makes some small one that come in 12 packs for cheap. Like less than a buck a piece cheap.

Heres the setup now, halfway done. One plant gets a 100gph pump, about to ph solution and test it. If it works I can leave it be. Then I have three plants left on the tray that are moving to veg tent when it arrives in few days. A 2x4.

I would waste more solution trying to figure out if one 400 or 800gph pump can cover all 3 plants. They will have their own reservoir 20 gallons when full. Two plants are reveg clones in one gallon that I dont care much about and not sure what I am doing with them yet.

Maybe flower all three or two of them on one side of the 2.5x5 and lose some space or plant an auto to compensate and run 3 or 4 plants. I may want to mother one of the reveg clones and keep in one gallon as it was tested to flower a whole cycle in 9 weeks or 10 but lower yield but I like the fast finish. Trichomes get cloudy right away.

So I am not aure what to do maybe get a flood tray for one side of the 2x4 to hold whatever till I decide and get more drain away trays to hold 4 plants on one side of the 2x5x5.
