Meat curing chamber

I have searched all around and seen people sort of talk about it. I’m going go out on limb and ask if anyone has use a meat curing chamber to dry and cure. Most can be set at 60f and 60 humidity so my simple brain thinks sure why not.

I only have one area to grow and dry so I figured out a meat chamber in the room so I don’t have to drop my temps and all that jazz in grow room.

Usually when I think I thought of something awesome it turns out a bad idea in life so I’m just asking before I possible ruin a harvest.

I'm not at all familiar with a meat chamber, but if it can maintain 60/60, I don't see why it wouldn't work. If it's a compressor refrigeration, that may be a problem. I think it sucks too much moisture out of the air.

It looks like it would work but they are a tad expensive:

Search on Koolatron. A number of us have been building small ones that run less than $300 to build.

I checked it out and it says that cheaper one is without the humidification system!! So they are pricey. Here's the thread I'm talking about:

I'm currently drying 3 more plants. I'm on day 10. It works nicely and was right around $300.00 to build. I added 5 perforated stainless steel shelves so clean up is just popping the shelving into the dishwasher. But that was an extra $300.00

Just my very general opinion, I'd so rather hang-dry buds in "slightly off" conditions than having buds laying flat on a rack at 60/60. Just my 2 cents. The whole laying buds flat to dry them always weirds me out, lol. I'm pretty adamant about "minimal contact" to bud surfaces since that's a variable I can control. Even when weed is in jars I try not to over-tumble or unnecessarily agitate the nugs

How about - I don’t know …. use a bare tent ?

This would work the same way - minor extraction fan up top just like normal / passive inlet ( at bottom ) - hung from support bars .

Hang a hygrometer in there. Zip closed.
Simple 3x3 any brand .
Save money and other drama.

You could do the same thing with a non currently running tent you not have operating.

Sometimes i mesh rack them ( i turn them over during dry ) or plant hang. Ridiculously simple.

The cannatrol was originally designed for the meat/cheese industry. …the cannabis industry was more lucrative.

Just trying to save you some beer money.

You can also fab up a drying “ box “ out of a U-Haul Garment Box. Then fold the bitch up when done

Wine fridge is a game changer no strong smells when drying and the product retains crazy smells. But as pissman said you can use a simple carbord box to dry you can even pack it in a paper back
