Leaf problem??

Hey guys,

I have had a problem with my last little ones (9 weeks) and found them to have spider mites, I threw away my girls cleaned the tent with bleach and disinfection and thoroughly washed it with plain clean water. I have 3 on the go and i just do not know what is going on.

The 3 are auto's, temps 25-27oc, humidity is 60% feeding 4 pipette drops per litre and P.H of 5.8/5.9 growing in 30/70 mix of perlite and canna coco pro plus. I thought it could of been nute burn but it should have settled by now. I have cut a few ends off the really bad leaf's just in case but i think it is time to ask for help with these little ones as i grow from seed every time so wasting more and more money.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

How many weeks old are those? They are autos so if those are like 4 week old plants u might as well start over again. You can't make up time with autos, if u mess up u loose weight and size period. Try photos, u can keep them in veg till you get it right.

So one feeding a day is to much? i thought with Coco it needs to maintain the daily feeding.... yes a load of draining holes are at the bottom which are raised a little to drain i remove most of run off leaving around 5% feeding 4 drops canna anb per ltr.

It was a miss type they are 5 weeks old from seed, I have been growing photos for years and wanted to try Auto's i have one success on my previous grow with great results but this grow i am defo doing something wrong.

U have to understand the y not the how. Coco gets fed more often and is typically kept wet because it does not hold much, and since it does not hold much water it does not hold much nutrients. Then as the plants get bigger they are eating the nutrients in the water faster than the water so u need to feed 2 or 3 times a day even tho it's still wet.

Right now you have no roots and they are just sitting in mud basicly, the plant isn't big enough and doesn't have the roots to drink water in turn drawing air into the soil. Your just leaving them sitting in stagnet water.

Allow some drying and feed less often, let the roots grow and look for food theirs plenty right now. Don't feed until you notice a 70% drop in container weight. Start to feed more often when u see the leaves ask for it and start to look light green.

Those are 5 weeks? You can feed every day in coco/perlite as soon as it pops up from the coco. If it's straight coco with no perlite, then you have to be a bit more mindful with how much you water in the seedling stage if the coco contains too much coco peat (coco dust) as that will impact the ability of the roots to access oxygen.

What the hell is 4 drops of A&B? We need to know what the EC of that feed is. You have a pH meter, but you also need a PPM or EC meter to gauge how strong (or weak) your feed is. You should be feeding at around 400 EC (200 PPM on the 500 scale) in the seedling stage and a week or so later, at around 1100 EC (550 PPM).

Hey thanks for your advice, when i get home i will record all the readings and post them...... i was told that ec is really not that important at this stage and i did question it but clearly wrong information...... no 2 plants are the same.

I am using canna a&b as feed at the moment... again thank you for your reply!!

Yes, EC is vital. I believe there are 20 drops in a ml. At four drops (each?), that means you're feeding 0.2ml per liter. I don't use Canna nutes, but I think even in seedling it's over 1ml each part per liter. That's why EC is important. It doesn't matter how many ml's; it matters what the EC of those ml's is.

Using a starting water of 0 EC, general ranges in coco would be:

400-500 EC seedling
1100-1500 EC veg
1200-1600 EC flower
