I think I waited too long

Thanks man. Appreciate the advice. Will be making some changes for this next grow.
No problem, enjoy the process it's never always a win even after years of growing. That is part of what is fun about growing and what makes or breaks most growers. Some people cannot accept failure and just give up on growing. Glad your on our team and plan to keep going at it and improving! bongsmilie

Sorry for your loss, sucks when you get that far and have a failure like that. If it makes you feel better last year we had super humid weather and I threw softball sized colas in the field cause they were all filled with botrytis (bud rot). It was probably 10-12 pounds of weed all ruined within a week.

Ugh that would suck. Yea no giving up here. Most of the fun I have is watching it grow. It is a beautiful looking plant. I threw it all away. Probably 4 or 5 oz. I had some the size of my hand almost. Some looked perfect but I decided to toss and not take the chance. Have a good one and happy growing.

Have harvested my fair share of rotted bud. Been a tough year…I live in a funky old house with a stone walled basement grow area. All the rain we had this year up in the northeast US kept getting puddles in my basement so mold is always an uphill battle.
I had to add another dehumidifier just for the bloom room which seemed to help. Also find it is better due to conditions to try to train the plants so there are many small tops with a bit of space in between nodes as opposed to trying to grow monster size colas. Yields are slightly less but also less bud rot issues. Airflow and low humidity are the key.
In the past have tried to cut my losses by snipping off the rotted weed and salvaging what I could from the lower parts of the plant. Rotted bud is pretty much useless; even trying to blast it into bho or what have you results in very low yield. Once mold sets in and begins to show the trichomes are already too compromised to be viable for extraction. Smoking mold spores is probably bad for you; do not recommend. Clean all your grow areas with a 10% bleach solution or fungicide; mold spores can linger in confined spaces. Good luck & happy growing

Thanks. I was kind of thinking the same thing. I didn’t trim it enough I don’t think. And left it way too bushy. Not enough air flow. Will go for a smaller plant this time. Forgot to crop this last one too. Would rather have a smaller yield with no rot.

Just for future reference, if it rots. That's irrelevant to harvest time.Rot must be mitigated or acquiesced to and its timing has nothing to do with harvesting early.

Just had this problem myself. Buds looked great on the outside, but when trimming I noticed they were tan colored on the inside near the stem. Certainly not the obvious fuzzy gray mushy oh shit I fucked up kinda bud rot, but definitely there is a problem here. I noticed on one of your pics the same type of weird brownish specs that almost look like trichomes, but are actually more like tiny mushrooms when viewed under magnification. Very heartbreaking.
