HLG 550 Rspec - blinking issue

I have been running a HLG 550 Rspec without any issues for about a year and a half with no issues.

Walked in the tent the other day and noticed it was blinking. Doesn't make any difference where I set the dimmer it still has the issue. I stupidly didn't keep my receipt or I would just take it back to the grow shop for a replacement.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and how did you fix it? I'm either thinking I need to bridge out the dimmer or replace the driver. I'll bridge out the dimmer first and if that doesn't work I'll probably order a replacement driver. All the diodes are working perfectly so def looking to fix it.

Call them, they are there and will speak to you.

Sometimes the dimmer messes up. Are you able to disconnect the dimmer and just use full power on switch? I dont know about that specific light but one of my cheap chinese LEDs started flickering and I unplugged the dimmer and it stopped.

Also check your plugs and make sure they are all tight and not loose.

I am leaning towards the dimmer too. Could be a faulty potentiometer. Getting to the top of the board is a big job. Need to pull all the plants out and take it out of the tent to work on it.

Oh so your dimmer is built in the LED. Mine has one I can remove. That sucks I hope you can figure it out.

My 350R started flickering the other day.

Fill out the warranty form on HLG’s site. They’ll start a ticket for you and begin walking you through some diagnostics to rule out the dimmer.

Flickering would guide me towards faulty dimmer. If its blinking at regular intervals; driver problem, its getting into "hiccup" mode, tried to power up but cant, same thing happens if youve mismatched driver voltage with boards.

If you paid by card you should be able to prove your purchase to either seller or hlg. Try with hlg, you may get lucky, they take real good care of customers.

It's irregular blinking. Probably dimmer.
