Hey folks, at what point would it be too long to wait to feminzize a plant? This plant is very late maturing and also long 60 days, Late October here in NYS.
It JUST started showing signs of hairs the female about 5 days ago. I thought it may be male, but no. So lets just say 1 week in can I start spraying? I have a male I saved about 20 feet away that started showing its sac's about 3 days prior, but it was compromised early on bc of bugs most likely.
Should I use the male? Is it a better option genetically if I want to ultimately get to F5? This will be the first breeding of the BX1 Headband Cookies. So its my F1 I guess. The F2s will be the seeds. I like the idea of trying to feminize, but say I feminize this F1, then F2, etc, is there any downside vs say using a simple M/F and just plucking my best 2 males and using pollen ? I do believe the F2s will be a bit erratic or inconsistent so I will only breed the best that I like. These are outdoors folks, upstate NY by Canada.
