Hey I have a a 400 watt MH lamp in a space right now with flowering mothers. I also have about 15 clones that are still in the cloning machines, and want to build a new home for them. In this new home I would like to be able to put the clones into soil in fairly large pots and then keep them there until flowering in the other room. I have adequate space and ventilation and am wondering what kind of lights would be best.

I have heard that too much light can be intense on clones, so I didn't wanna jump to conclusions. Any advice would help.

for clones i would keep to cfl. works good with them.
HPS/Mh can be a little too much. even tubed flouro's are okay for seedlings.
But from what im reading you what to put the clones directly in soil?? i wouldn't do that, i'd let them root in some water first and then put them in soil when they have a decent root structure.

Sounds like you want to set-up a "veg" area to allow these clones to grow into small bushes prior to flowering......

Since you are flowering under HID light I would veg under it as well....floros are ok for a few days but don't give you the thick, vigorous stem and trunk growth that you see under HID lamps (you want this to support the buds and drive strong root growth).......don't worry about the light, clones can take it.

Just because they are small doesn't mean anything....remember it is a genetic copy of a sexually mature mum---once rooted they can handle the same level of nutes and light as the source plant..................

These are in their sixth day of flower under a 1000 watt lamp......they threw roots 9 days ago (3 days veg time)

Thanks for the tips. I have the roots of the clones about a half inch but am waiting for them to get a little longer as I am rooting them without a medium. What size space would be ideal for 2-4 150 watt HPS or MH?
