Ive been looking for a killer super pungent kush to grow and thought I would ask the community if anyone has any suggestions. What I want is a kush that produces that pungent kush smell consistently from a pack of seeds. I dont want citrus but instead that strong acrid funky smell.

On another note has anyone tried Cataract Kush by DNA? Saw a nice sale on the seeds and thought about grabbing a pack. Thanks everyone, you guys rock

By kush you mean og not like actual true kush like from the hindu region kinda stuff im guessing? If so rugburn og from rare dankness would suit you i reckon there scotts og is good but has more a lemon pinesole og thing going on ime vs a more sour chemmy type og if your open to actual kush rsc has tora bora some of those phenos smell like rank bo/onions kinda too sensis hindu kush has a killer spicy gingery pheno in it its almost hazy tasting actually but not quite bang on haze thats a good one too good potency tbh i think bodhi has found a similar pheno from listening to the potcast eps with him in it the one he described sounds like it

Had a bad experience with DNA many moons ago and never went back. after reading through the threads about them i can see im not alone.

If i had to push someone towards something i thought would be the kush-iest stinker of all stinkers, yield and ideal plant structure aside, id say something like this Wifi43 x Triangle Kush from CSI Humboldt > https://humboldtcsi.com/product/white-fire-43-x-triangle-kush/

Everything ive grown with WIFI in it has had super high levels of frost and stink. That classic coffee, burnt rubber and fresh tennis ball smell

Cataract Kush and LA confidential are two of my all time favorite Kushes but I stopped throwing money at DNA a few years ago so I can't comment on the current state of these strains.
Thank you. It was either Cannapot or Oaseeds they are having a sale of half off cataract kush.

Yes more on the OG side. Ive grown Rugburn, mind you it was one plant among many other strains I was growing and I didnt get that smell I was looking for. I may have to try again, and pop several to find a better pheno. Ive never grown landrace hindu kush so Im not sure what that smell is like personally other than reading about it. I appreciate the info. Some killer strains being mentioned here, all going into notes and then into a cart for checkout.

Other options: go through Archive Seed Bank's strains and get anything Kush related. They'll have some Malibu Kush crosses Pure Kush crosses, and FaceOff OG crosses which is a cut they selected and worked themselves. Anything from them is gonna be potent as hell, and probably fairly consistent.

Seeds:
Karma-Biker Kush
NorStar has a lot of stuff Deadhead, HA, & Banana OG. Still some Jesus OG Kush from 2014-2018 in stock.
Rare Dankness- Starkiller OG
DNA just redropped Kosher Kush with plans to re-drop OG18 soon if you want to try them again
Nirvana still has master Kush regs around if you look for em. Old stock considering they haven’t been sold in years.
Skunkhouse- Larry OG or TK Crosses
Ethos- OG D Lux (I have a pack of these)

Clones:
TK and SFV OG are my top pick. You can get them for like 100$. Testing Ghost now.

The most OG kush strain I’ve personally grown was by Sin City seeds. It was kosher kush x blue power and I ran it as a tester for them but I don’t remember what name they released it under. Of all the phenos there was one that stood out with this incredible hard to describe funky smell and intense flavor. I ran it for several runs but it wasn’t a great yielder and at the time I had plenty of tasty things to choose from so I dropped it. I’ve been bummed I dropped it many times since. Based on that plant and other kosher kush crosses I’ve smoked I believe the flavor and smell I experienced was from the kosher kush. I have wanted to run the real deal ever since but never got my hands on it.

THE Bank - 92 OG is pretty spot on to what I was searching for on my quest for that OG of 25 years ago. Heavy yield (capacitive to over OG’s), good size buds and that peppery / spicy taste and aroma you’d expect from that old school cut of OG. It is however not an old school cut, it’s been bred by The Bank and used in a lot of their lines.

if you can find the SFV it’s no slouch either. I currently run 4 Kushes, I wouldn’t say they’re all“OG’s”. Topanga Canyon Pure Kush, SFV OG, 92 OG and La Pure Kush (this one does not resemble OG in taste or smell).

Sensis aint a landrace now regardess who claims so its been in mans influence and under too much selective pressure to be so its a heirloom now man and yeah i figured was og types u after hope it helps man the trick with landrace kush is give em less water and less nutrients vs modern stuff also grow em in seedling compost like you use for veg not the nutrient rich grow mixes that we use mostly these days for weed obviously potency will vary as they barely selected for it as its used for hash stuff not ganja so hunting is needed that way too where as heirlooms as there more worked will be way easier to find higher potency plants in less numbers true landrace almost always needs hunting through more

What would you say the main terp in it was? Was it lemony? Ive grown a kosher kush many years ago but I dont remember where it was from and it was straight lemon with a little funk to it.
